Does anybody know if the Manor Place rubbish dump in camberwell is still open and take regular rubbish?

It's quite difficult to get this information from the Southwark website and when I have eventually found it, it mentions half way down the page that it is now closed. But there are also opening hours listed on the page so it's quite confusing. Also currently been on hold for 10 mins with Southwark council helpline so not very helpful :-(

I need to take some old carpets/wallpaper etc.

thanks

The Devon St Facility is very good and Clean. does not involve climbing ladders

as did the one at Manor Place. It is enclosed so also dry.

Also takes cooking oil.

If you go to the Lambeth one, expect long queues at the w/e.

Very littered. I got a puncture their on one occasion.

Fox.

I didn't know that! Do they take everything including stuff which can't be recycled?

Vale Street in West Dulwich do indeed accept Southwark residents but it is recycling only. Best to check the Lambeth website for what they will take - it is quite wide ranging. It does get busy at weekends but I find that if you are prepared to get there early ie before 8am, then it's OK. Southwark's facility in Devon St will accept anything. I don't know how busy it gets as I've only been a couple of times and they were fairly early. HTH

    • Now who might that be?
    • Harvey and Wheeler in Dulwich Village? Only one I know… How can they offer to apply and never did? Surely; whether they are managing the property or not and with tech been so advanced I would have thought they would have been a couple of e mails sent as a reminder or, is it the Landlord’s responsibility to apply… Rental Law/ Bill has just come  into force  - can’t remember if it was this week or last and have been to busy to read.. However, will as assume it is not individual councils but all councils. Came up on Which on line.. Good point Jen Jen Jen - sure some knowledgable person on here can throw more light than I.
    • Does this mean then that anybody who rents out their home in East Dulwich needs one of these licenses? And does everyone of these landlords have one?
