Bad smell from emulsion paint

Has any one experienced a bad smell after using a emulsion paint, it smells like sick and is driving me mad, would like to know how to get rid of this smell, any help would be appreciated.

Hmmmmm

It's the ammonia in the latex that you're smelling. It's an essential component of vinyl based emulsin type paints.

Funnily enough try using acrylic base in the future . Johnsons do a range

Is the Emulsion quite old & has been thinned with water in the past ?

If so, the paint degrades and produces "rotten egg" type odour

( I'm a paint nerd btw )

You may want to try NOT wearing a gimp suit when painting in the future

Thanks very much for your replies, I have spoken to the paint company, they have been very helpful and we are hoping to be rid of this horrid smell soon.
