Plan Toys wooden pirate ship and characters. Not sure if the toyshop on LL carries these? You can definitely order online. I've seen them on Amazon. My friends' boys have one. It seems very sturdy.

Just got a Hexbub set for my godson (3y) and he loved it!!! Got it from Toys r Us in Old Kent Road. They've got 3 or 4 different sets, you can get a small one and add to it later. I think that's part of the fun. Or join one kids set to another, and so on.

Playmobile is a firm fav in our house! also look at fisher price Imaginex toys I have always been impresed with them.

My 3 year old is into Ben 10, Power Rangers BAtman spider man and any other blinking super hero that he comes across...however my brother bought him a nerf gun for Christmas and he was blown away by this gift and now classes Uncle as THE bestest Unlce in the WORLD EVER...I however cannot wait for the day that he has a child and then I can repay this glouriuos gift back to him...

what about a dressing up outfit? we've got quite a few, doctor, policeman, pirate etc and they are played with a lot.

Our 3 year old is into Fireman Sam and we bought him a firemans hat, coat and firemans kit (all ELC) for his bday, he loves them.
