Is there any nurseries with spaces out there?

I'm returning to work in November which is much earlier than expected and I cant seem to find many nurseries that have places for an over 2 and an under 1. Do any forumites know of any nurseries with spaces, im willing to consider Clapham and other areas too? ps..I know ive left this so late in the day and I should have started this search about a year ago! :(

Have you tried Oaktree nursery on Tell Grove, they have just expanded and one accept younger children for a longer day.

Cherry Tree Montessori? - a friend of mine has her 10 month old there and he is really enjoying it. Settled in quickly and staff have been great. I understand that forum reviews have not always been great but my friend has had a really good experience so far. They were also one of the few nurseries to offer a place quickly as they had opened a second (?) baby room. Not sure if there is still space but might be worth contacting them.

Another friend has been offered a place at Oaktree (as above), but her boy hasn't started there yet so can't comment. But agree with Kate that there may well be space at Oaktree. Good luck.

Oaktree's nice - the ladies are lovely, and it's not too far from the station for a pre-train drop-off.

Hi Archie, I also started work with short notice. Will you be working centrally? I couldn't find a local nursery with available spaces that suited, so I found a nursery near my work. I work near Waterloo Station, and my daughter is going to the St Patrick's Montessori nursery nearby the station. I wouldn't say it was the cheapest option. However, it is an excellent nursery and very convenient if you're commuting centrally.

My 1 year old has just started at Forest Hill Nursery on Devonshire Road.

I spent a long time deciding between 3 nurseries but am really happy with my choice. The staff are lovely and everything is new as it has just opened. The lunches are great too!

Depend where are you living and where you need to go for your work but we've moved recently in WD from ED and when I was looking for a nursery close to our future new house, Dulwich Day nursery ("Asquish" nursery) on park hall road had a quite short waiting list. (2-3 months notice for the 3-5 years old kids)

the staff seemed great and they've folowed us with serious to know if we wanted to have a space for November.

I prefered to wait for my first choice nursery, where I've applied long time ago, and where my son is now , but my husband was enthousiastic with that nursery.

Baby room and middlle room (1-2 year old) gave me better feeling than the 3-5 years room (but it was fine).

You have WD station nearby and West norwood.

We had a brillant childminder previously, who lives close to bellenden road. Angela will have availabilities soon due to my son departure and the departure of the 2 others toddlers she had in charge due to Pre-school entrance/moving. I could not enough recommend her! I know she plans to do a break , up to december to re start a new group of kids in January, but she might be open-minded to have children before.If you need her details, you can PM me
