JessM
My daughter is loving Herne Hill School. An advantage is she can stay until end of year 2 if that's what we decide.A disadvantage (for me!) is that she has to take packed lunch when she does a full day. DVnewbie
Another vote for Half Moon Montessori. My son went last year and my daughter's just started. They both adore it. We're big fans. The staff there are all fantastic. Depends where you live though! Ceanothus
Hi LillyD,Asquith Peckham Rye Branch is excellent. My children started in their nursery room and went through the whole school. When I enrolled them, it was based on the warm nature of the staff and also that there is a low rate of staff change. Food is cooked on the premises and they follow Annabel Karmel's recipes. In the last couple of years, they have been awarded 'outstanding' by OFSTED. Cora
I think they do still have a couple of places and take from 2.5. My son is loving it and because it is 'parent run' (supported by the parents) it is only ?30 for the week or less if you receive the government grant at 3. nubby'smums
Dulwich Wood Nursery School and Children's Centre is a hidden gem: http://dulwichwoodnursery.co.uk/ My son went there for a year before he started in reception and its fantastic. They have classrooms and teachers for the older ones, so it was great prep for school. The outdoor space is excellent and they have forest school status. I can't recommend it highly enough. Our son loved it and settled immediately, despite not having any formal childcare before this. He really misses it now he's a school. WorkingMummy
I can v highly recommend the German Kindergarten on Red Post Hill. It is bilingual. It is used my some Germsn expats but mostly my English families who like the idea of early introduction to a foreign language. It is small, friendly , very loving, well organised and has a great garden. And after 3 or 4 terms, your child may well be bilingual.
