I see today he's claiming Cameron deliberately got the Magna Carta thing wrong on Letterman so that he didn't appear too clever: "I think he was only pretending. I think he knew full well what Magna Carta means. It was a brilliant move in order to show his demotic credentials and that he didn't have Latin bursting out of every orifice."

We all know the old Boris is a clever man trying to sound dim line, but I actually found this brilliant. Boris, of all people, manages to undermine Cameron based on the idea that Cameron is a public school elitist!

Have I been wrong all this time?

I wondered whether he had been briefed about the type of audience David Letterman attracts because I get the impression that US chat shows are not in the least spontaneous. Or maybe DC wanted to give the impression that he is not interested in ancient British history because he has his finger firmly on the pulse of today's goings on!

There can't be anyone left on the streets of Britain who shalt not recite the mantra EEE MAY ACT LIKE A BUFFOON BUT EEES DEAD CLEVER REALLY INNEE when questioned.

Ok, so everyone is agreed that he's not as stupid as he looks, or acts etc etc, but it doesn't necessarily follow that he must be, you know, the smartest man alive; the political puppetmaster with a thousand lesser brains dancing on invisible strings - to the subsonic beats and pulsing of his giant superbrain. Do me a a favour!

    • Although this sounds worrying, a "bitey" fox is unusual. I see foxes all the time where I live near Rye Lane and have never experienced this. I've even seen a fox sitting in the garden where an outdoor cat lives, whilst the cat was there - the cat was fine and is still alive. I think my flat is on a fox path because I hear and see them most nights, none of the local cats seem bothered by them. I can't help but wonder what would make the fox act in such a way, I've just read that toxoplasmosis might make them more aggressive
    • Purse with cash and cards (including photo card) found in road local to East Dulwich Tabernacle. It will be here (107 Barry Road) all day (Sunday 21 December) if you want to collect or PM me.  In case some one else who knows R Howard, please alert her.    Thank you
    • Thanks Sue.  No the car just drove on.  We don't know if they noticed.  We were driving behind.  We were just glad we could be with the cat, and take him to the vet, rather than leaving him there 😞
    • Certainly the infamous (and mythical) SE London cat killer turned out to be foxes attacking dying and dead cats injured by cars, but fox: cat encounters do appear to happen, even where cats are victorious. Fox: adult humans less so. At least where foxes are the aggressors.
