'The Restaurant' Nunhead

Having been to probably all the restaurants in ED, we decided to try 'The Restaurant' on Evalina Rd, Nunhead last night. The menu is simple and the food great. It's a small restaurant and very welcoming. The staff are very friendly and the couple who run it are lovely. The chef came to say hello and we were treated to a complimentary single malt too. The service was a little slow, but we were in no rush so it didn't matter.

If you do go, you must try the bread and butter pudding, it's amazing! :))

Agree.

They are slow because they go out find the cow kill it and cut it and then cook it.

Well maybe not but they do cook it and not just heating it in a microwave, either.

Haven't been for a while, thanks for reminding me.

Would hate to see this gem close down through lack of trade though there's hopefully enough money in Nunhead to keep it going.

Well, I own two commercial properties on Nunhead Lane, the area is not busy at all but i hope that restaurant survivies too.

Love it, very nice indeed. Good food and good vibe. And they must have a good temperment's not to vist the 2nd hand shop next door with clever in hand !!!
