I know exactly what I'm talking about. I was born and bred here. I remember the Brixton riots and, believe me, that was terrifying. What you're going to see soon is nothing compared to that. I'm done with this forum. It's not open to discussion. Every time someone has a differing opinion they're shot

LL it's the fact that you haven't been fully clear in explaining what you are talking about and what your real fear is

Who are the bb ?

What exactly are they asking for and what's the result of they don't get it ?

No one is shooting you down, they just don't clearly see your argument as it needs clarity in presenting

I'm glad to hear that you're done with the forum.

Your overtly racist post is really embarrassing.

It helps is the original post explains what the thread is about. I'm confused. But pick up on earlier comments it is debating maths, or mathsdebating, ie a load of wonk (the thread not the subject matter as I'm not sure what it is).

Who needs the Edinburgh Fringe Festival or Tim Vine with my wit.

MSM is usually used a an acronym for Main Stream Media - like the newspapers and TV.

MM could be an insult to the views of lots of us (Mutual M*stur**n)

Basically she's saying "come on Sheeple the end is coming and you're all discussing the same things, you won't when the asteroid/revolution/rapture/race war happens"

and Uncs share is just something from Sargon of Akkad ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Benjamin )

    • thanks Jenijenjen and all - yes, i remember walking or taking the bus from the elephant (where i was working) to Camberwell to get there.  I think Tim - who's still at Franklin's -  was there in those days, and the woman who ran the cafe!  Other food places that i remember fondly are the ones in Neal's Yard (with the Hunkin sculpture that you could put a coin in ) and the basement lunch place at the Tottenham Court Road junction with Hanway Street...
    • Did you try the emergency number posted above? It mentions lift breakdowns over the festive period outside the advertised  times. Hope you got it sorted x
    • People working in shops should not be "attempting to do the bill in their head." Nor if questioned should they be  trying to "get to an agreeable number." They should be actually (not trying to) getting to the correct number. I'm afraid in many cases it is clearly more than incorrect arithmetic. One New Year's Eve in a restaurant (not in East Dulwich but quite near it) two of us were charged for thirty poppadoms. We were quite merry when the bill came, but not so merry as to not notice something amiss. Unfortunately we have had similar things happen in a well established East Dulwich restaurant we no longer use. There is also a shop in East Dulwich which is open late at night. It used not to display prices on its goods (that may have changed). On querying the bill, we several times found a mistake had been made. Once we were charged twice for the same goods. There is a limit to how many times you can accept a "mistake".  There is also a limit to how many times you can accept the "friendly" sweet talking after it.
