  1. Yes. Estate Agents sell East Dulwich as some kind of Eutopia. The hard fact is East Dulwich is a South East London suburb. Crime is rampant, if those who are prepared £1.5 million plus for a house without doing their homework on the crime stats, then woe betide them. Im okay, I was born and bred here so know the territory, so to speak. Anyone arriving and believing this is crime free, think again.
  2. Chris B. "Not what you expect in East Dulwich". This is South London. You have no idea do you? Understand one thing....you may have bought an expensive property here and expected south London to change for you and adapt for your needs, but it hasn't. East Dulwich was a very poor area, but it was an amazing community. Since the blow ins and gentifrication, south Londoners have been forced out of their community. Really? You have an attitude.
  3. It does not sell what people want. I visited today, hoping to find something “what people want”. I am a pensioner and I have limited money. I was hoping to find some cheaper vegetables and fruit. Their fruit and veg consists of two tiers at the end of an aisle. I also like to buy colouring books and pencils for my grandchildren, once again I have to go to Peckham for these. I’m not saying this is the be all and end all of a pound shop, but don’t waste your time. Go to Peckham. I will give it one year max before they are gone. I just don’t get it.
  4. Cost of living crisis doesn’t affect those who can afford houses in Dulwich Village does it. Also, see my post regarding fireworks and the cost of living crisis.
  5. Is it just me? I thought everyone was so strapped for cash at the moment, all up in arms about how they can’t afford their gas and electricity bills. Absolutely worried about the cost of living. The amount of fireworks being let off in East Dulwich over the past week tells me otherwise, and this will continue until we’ll after 5th November. What is the priority here....putting money aside for bills and food, or burning money on fireworks?
  6. I am looking for a person to help me with various odd jobs around the home.i need blinds fitted, ceilings painted and cracks filled. I am disabled so need a bit of ongoing help. These are not huge jobs, maybe suit a retired/semi retired person. Willing to pay the going rate.

  8. Years ago a market was exactly that. A place to buy fruit and veg, housewares and reasonably priced clothing. Nowadays the definition of a "market" is nothing but food stalls, overpriced junk selling as "antiques". The old East Street market was amazing in its day. As a child my parents would go there every Saturday with myself and brother in tow. Literally everything we needed was bought there. The shops lining East Street market were competitively priced because of the market prices. As a teenager I would go there the day after weekly pay day and buy the latest 45rmp single from the A1 store. Then off to the clothing stalls to buy my Saturday night outfit. That was a true market. It's still there today but nothing like it was.
  9. I don't know your age, but I find it disgusting that you can't change a washer in your tap. Shame on you
  10. Yes. You have nailed it.never mind about your cards, think of lonely pensioners who did not understand what is going on. Also, think once again of the homeless.
  11. I don't understand what is going on here. Since August there have been problems with my prescriptions. It's constant. I was in a huge queue the other day waiting for my pain medication. My prescription was put in the previous week. After waiting for 40 minutes in the queue I was told "sorry your medication isn't in stock, would you like to wait or do you want your prescription back". I opted for the latter and tooky prescription to Davis Chemist on Crossthaite Avenue. My medication was there the next day.

I was born and bred here. I remember the Brixton riots and, believe me, that was terrifying. What you're going to see soon is nothing compared to that. I'm done with this forum. It's not open to discussion. Every time someone has a differing opinion they're shot
  13. A BLM march yes. I'm talking about a black terrorist group demanding money from the government for something that happened centuries ago. And their exact words were "or else". They're wearing balaclavas, stab vests and recruiting. Open your bloody eyes.
  14. No. I'm talking to you. Like I said I remember the Brixton riots. This will be nothing compared to that. You'll be one of the first to wet your pants when the shit hits the fan. Which it will very soon.
  15. You all need to take a look at the racist, Oxford educated bitch called Sasha She actually called another black man she disagreed with a "coon". Think about it.

  17. Teenagers? Have you actually seen this lot?
  18. The idiots still will deny this. Wait for the response "well it's the daily mail, what do you expect". No, it's all over social media. Imagine if white people did this.
  19. I don't believe you. You have seen what everyone else has seen. Black Africans on the streets complete with stab vests, balaclavas and looking for recruits. Demanding money from the government for something that happened centuries ago. We only finished our repatriations in 2015. You know and you've seen it.
  20. Really. Can't wait till they come to East Dulwich and march down the street. What you going to do then?
  21. So what are your thoughts on this? Don't pretend you haven't seen it on MSM. All left wing BLM supporters on here need to hang your heads in shame. You have actively encouraged this. You might live in East Dulwich or Dulwich Village but now this is getting nearer and nearer. You soon will not be safe in this little bubble that you call Utopia. I was born and bred here, I remember the Brixton riots. Stay safe.
  22. Dear God. I can't believe some of these posts on here. We all should be protecting ourselves and others. What's the alternative to not wearing a mask, another lockdown which none of us wants.

Why are they still insisting on card payment only at the till, when all of the main Sainsbury's branches are taking cash.
  24. Hi, virgin media seems to be down in the Landells Road area. Any one else having problems today?
  25. The road is taped off from Whately road. The police officer told me it's a firearms incident. Lots of police there and looks like a car mounted the pavement. Looks like they're searching in the drains.
