Thank you KidKruger. My post was in no way racist but why do certain members of society think this disease won't affect then? And yes, I am concerned that the incidence is higher in the BAME society. That said, if I were a BAME, I sure as hell would be looking after myself and my family.

Yes we do need to know the ratio of BAME to white. Southwark has one of the highest death rates of COVID19, and Peckham being the highest. It's useless having an expensive enquiry into why BAME have a higher rate of death unless we understand why. Please take a walk along Peckham high street/rye lane. I can't imagine you've done that. If not, before you comment, go and have a look at the facts.

Report him to the RSPCA if you have evidence he is using poison. The poison could also kill other wildlife or domestic animals. Most foxes are scared of dogs so I find it hard to believe that the mother "growled" at his dog! We have a fox family nearby and when my cat goes out in the garden they run off.

I believe that Frien Road got its name from Frien Farm. I live on Landells Road and my house backs onto Barry Road. There is a small divide between our gardens (some of the divide has been claimed). I believe that the milkmen would use this passageway to deliver milk in days gone by

Missing post since sorting office moved to peckham
lindylou replied to nina_maniana's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yes, I agree, a postal problem. But your comment that "people needing to shield would probably already know that" is untry. I had a severe organising pneumonia several years ago. I was under guys hospital chest clinic for a long time and then discharged. I have since had an inhaler. You do seem to assume quite a lot Sue. -

A worrying aspect for me is that I had a call from NHS last week asking if I had received my letter, sent out weeks ago, informing me that I should be shielding. Needless to say, that letter hasn't arrived! Thankfully I've been staying at home, but apparently I shouldn't even be going to get my weekly shopping! I wonder how many more have not received their letters. -

Had enough now. I started this thread about the people sitting on the benches outside the Palmerston on Lordship Lane. Once again, I had to go to Lloyds pharmacy on North Ross Road to collect a prescription. 3.20om, every bench outside the pub was taken up by luvvies with their takeaway coffees, 3 or 4 at each table, enjoying the sun. Not at all bothered. Well Palmerston pub, your benches might be fixed to the ground but there's no excuse. Enjoy your fine. Reporting you.

This afternoon I had to go to Lloyds pharmacy on North road Road to collect a prescription. I saw a police van on the corner parked across the road outside the pub opposite M&S. They were shifting people away who chose to sit and get some sun on the benches outside the pub. To be able to keep the 2 metres distance, anyone needing to pass would have been forced to walk in the road. I am now totally fed up with this selfish attitude. One of the selfish idiots walked up the road past the pharmacy and winged to all and sundry about how unfair it was as she was "only taking a rest" and she "didn't think police patrolled in East Dulwich".

Cats and dogs both have feline and canine coronovirus, and they always have. Unless you eat said animals it does not cross from animal to human/human to animal.

Well said. "But I'm entitled to have my ice cream/burgers/coffee, I don't care if people have to walk in the road to get around me. Me, me, me, me that's all I care about. Stuff the rest of you".

Cyclemonkey Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Is there a government list of essential food? No > there isn't. Ice cream is food, therefore shops > are allowed to sell it to takeaway. Sainsbury's > are selling it, along with all sorts of "non > essential" food. As the OP said, a queue of about 20 people. If you're in Sainsbury's shopping for essential food, by all means add some ice cream. To go to an outlet selling just ice cream is not essential. Why not open all of the shops on lordship lane, the pizza places maybe, or how about the restaurants? -

Cyclemonkey Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What are you going to report them for? Being a > takeaway food business? Because that is allowed. It's not a takeaway food business as such. If you're that desperate for ice cream then buy it alongside your essential groceries at the supermarket. Once you allow one independent shop to open, you have to allow them all to open. -

Just reported them.im not being totally nasty but there can't be one rule for one business and another for another business. I can't understand why people are encouraging this...should be totally ashamed of themselves. -

Report them. I agree, bending the rules. Coffee and ice cream are not essential at all. Actually I'm going to report them myself! -

I'll phone around tomorrow. I wasn't sure if they were on the list of essential commodities.

Does anyone know if garages are open at the moment? My driver side door doesn't lock properly, and I'm worried my car could get stolen. Even when the door appears to be shut it flies open so, obviously I can't drive it. It's important to me as I'm the carer for my 90 year old parents and rely on my car. Many thanks.

Opening up local school playing fields for exercise
lindylou replied to Jakido's topic in The Lounge
Give people an inch and they will take a mile. The utter selfishness and lack of compliance is one of the reasons lockdown will remain. Morons.
