  1. I can hear them. What's wrong with people. About time a law was brought in to ban the sale of fireworks. 10.30 pm and they're still going strong.

Uncleglen. The problem is some people don't like to hear the truth. Go to Parler. It's a breath of fresh air. You can find a hell of a lot of news on there that the MSM are afraid to report on. Looking forward to seeing you on there Uncle.

I'd never heard of them before Sue. Not very nice as there are so many of them. Hoping the cluster fly spray that I've ordered from Amazon will sort them out.
  4. Thank you so much JohnL. I looked on the flies website and have just purchased the cluster fly spray from Amazon, which they recommend. After reading the info, they are definitely cluster flies.

Thank you. They're back again. Grrr
  6. Oh no! Please don't tell me that they invade for a couple of weeks!

  8. Thanks for all your replies. I went downstairs this morning and there were lots of dead flies but, so far, no new ones.
  9. Sorry Foxy, sent before I finished "....pathetic, I know. The only thing it came up with that meets the description is Cluster Flies. Never heard of them. They're dying quickly but falling everywhere, even on my hair!!!

No, downstairs I don't have floorboards, it's concrete. The weird thing is, I decided to stop swatting them to see how many appeared. Although the flies are freaking me out, they seem to die off quickly of their own accord. How weird. Never known anything like it. Guess who won't sleep tonight!!
  12. Can anyone help me to identify what type of fly has been invading me this afternoon/evening. They aren't houseflies, nor bluebottles. Definitely not flying ants. I have no idea how they're getting in either. As soon as I swat 5 of them another 10 appear from nowhere! They don't fly around the room they just stay on the windows. My house is always clean and tidy, even more so since the pandemic, so I know they haven't been encouraged in. I just can't fathom them out. Also, even though I've closed all the windows they are still appearing. Help!
  13. I haven't gone into his background re: any slavery connections, but how about John Ruskin, who the park next to Kings was named after.
  14. Roku it really needs sorting out asap.
  15. I just don't get this. My parents live on Denmark Hill and throughout the pandemic they have had regular post. Their sorting office is in Camberwell. It covers a wide area. Why is this problem only happening at the Peckham sorting office?

I know I have post delivered, and I always leave that before touching it, but not too keen on having lots of junk mail laying on the doormat! Thanks.
  17. Why is it suddenly okay for junk mail to be put through letterboxes? I've had a leaflet from a tree surgeon, one from gutter clearance and another advertising painting and decorating. The icing on the cake was when the SE22 mag came through the door. I don't know what PPE the delivery people of this junk have in place. So now I have to leave it on my doormat for 72 hours before disposing of it.
  18. Although I've been shielding as much as possible, I developed some unusual symptoms: fatigue, sore throat, headache. I booked a Covid19 test at Belair Park and went this morning. It was manned by lovely army cadets who were so helpful and lovely. I felt for them in the heat in full combats and heavy boots. They were all absolutely charming and, as a pensioner, took extra time to explain everything to me. Well done lads. I salute you all.
  19. I find this whole scenario so upsetting and concerning. How can someone possibly think this is an okay thing to do? To shoot foxes in a small London garden? The worst the foxes would do is dig holes. There are many fox deterrents that can be purchased without resorting to shooting them.

Whose she, the cat's mother? And I think it's more of a class thing lately. Send the kids from the government school back, shield the others. All kids from working class families have no hope. Be that black, white or yellow.

But in the present climate it's not helping themselves or others they come into contact with.
