MM22
Hi - we are looking into getting a gas fireplace installed within our victorian cast-iron fireplace. Not sure this is even possible - has anyone had this done or have any recommendations of whom I could get in touch with? Many thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26006-gas-fireplace-recommendations/ Share on other sites
Lowlander
Is dead easy - if you can burn a real fire you can install a gas fire. You can pick one of for ?200 or so at John Lewis.Fitting cost I can't help with but factor in putting a gas pipe to the fireplace if there isn't one there already Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26006-gas-fireplace-recommendations/#findComment-582295 Share on other sites
womanofdulwich
i think there might be a rule about gas fires being a certain height above the floor? higher than a coal fire? womanofdulwich
I went to a place in Beckenham and they supplied and fitted my gas fire. I recommend them .It is not the one in Shortlands near the railway bridge- but the one near Beckenham shops- just past the cinema on the right hand side- the guy there is called Nigel. Fire is fitted and I have a safety certificate.
