Gas fireplace recommendations?

Hi - we are looking into getting a gas fireplace installed within our victorian cast-iron fireplace.

Not sure this is even possible - has anyone had this done or have any recommendations of whom I could get in touch with?

Is dead easy - if you can burn a real fire you can install a gas fire. You can pick one of for ?200 or so at John Lewis.

Fitting cost I can't help with but factor in putting a gas pipe to the fireplace if there isn't one there already

i think there might be a rule about gas fires being a certain height above the floor? higher than a coal fire?

I've yet to find a plumber I could recommend...just, whatever you do, make sure they're gas-safe registered

I went to a place in Beckenham and they supplied and fitted my gas fire. I recommend them .It is not the one in Shortlands near the railway bridge- but the one near Beckenham shops- just past the cinema on the right hand side- the guy there is called Nigel. Fire is fitted and I have a safety certificate.
