At Harris Primary ED the picket is at the front entrance used by teachers and staff. The kids go in through the gates at the rear. As I understand it (I’m not a teacher) it’s understood by other staff (teachers in other unions) that the protest is aimed at the government and not at the other staff at the school.

We’ve also used DJ Trev and just hired him a second time for one of my other kids’ parties. He’s fantastic fun and really lovely, helpful and kind. Totally recommend!

I would start with and enquiry to Southwark school services explaining your position. My kids are at Harris Primary on Lordship Lane. They?re really happy there, but I have to say I have rarely heard anyone say anything bad about any of the local primary schools. We?re at the station end of ED and I know people very happy with all the schools at this end: Bessemer Grange, Goose Green, Dog Kennel Hill and into Peckham Rye with the Belham and St John?s and St Clements. There is a Facebook group called East Dulwich Mums that might also help (I think dads are allowed too, perhaps it should be changed to Parents and carers!) Good luck with the move.

Update. I just passed by on our way home and it was a plastic chain therefore I was able to remove it. If it is the councils and there for a purpose then I am very sorry and will give it back to them. I highly doubt this is the case.

I have just emailed my councillors asking for their help with this. Someone has put a chain across the entrance to the cycle path along dulwich village, just past the Picture Gallery as you head towards Dulwich College. This is the point where the cycle path moves from the road and turns right to then share the pavement. This morning myself and my 6 year old were left stranded in the middle of the road looking for the gap in the chains which is normally there, to find it was chained off. I was left making an emergency manoeuvre in the middle of two way traffic with a small child. Luckily we are ok. Normally my child cycles on the pavement, but the pavement through dulwich village is so busy with pedestrians on a Saturday morning, that today was the first time we tried cycling on that road together. We last cycled that route on Thursday evening (when my child used the pavement as there are fewer pedestrians at that time) and there was no chain across. I only glanced at the chain but it does not appear to be the same as the other chains on that stretch. I have no idea why this would have been done. I have asked the councillors to arrange for this to be removed urgently before someone is injured. It was a really shocking position to find myself and my child in. For cyclists, if you continue past the bollard that protects you as you make the right turn, there is a drive a little way up on the right that provides access to the cycle path.

I went to kings last Thursday and my husband on Sat. Whilst we both had appointments they also had a walk-in clinic and it was all running smoothly and efficiently. I?m not sure how the walk-in works though, whether it?s open to all over 18?s yet? Also the changes in rules over the weekend may have changed the number of people turning up, so might be different today.

I tried one when I had to go to Staines for work and the office I was visiting was some distance from the train station. It had ?no-go? zones built in so wouldn?t work for example in the park (nor unfortunately on the cycle Lane as it ran alongside the park - but hopefully the sensitivity of that can be adjusted). I would hope that such functionality would be built into these so that they could only be operated as a push scooter (i.e. not motorised) within park boundaries. Interestingly the map on the relevant scooter app showed they had also designated the pedestrianised high-street as a no-go area along with the area immediately around the station - essentially anywhere that often has lots of pedestrians. Unfortunately this cannot be applied to private e-scooters, tho they are not currently legal.

Isn?t it only the start of half term for private schools - I think most state schools are still in this week.

I can assure you no offence was intended, in fact quite the opposite. An upside to making a Halloween walk more enjoyable for all in these rubbish times is to increase footfall along the road which should hopefully help advertise the local businesses. I?m sure there are those who will happily sit at their phones and write that it?s not enough etc but it has been weeks of planning and work by the local community for the enjoyment of all, which I am saddened to see you have chosen to view as some form of veiled threat. The planning application for both sites included an agreed to construction traffic management plan to arrive at the site from the Herne Hill direction to avoid construction traffic coming on residential roads next to the site.

Highly recommended. Tony arranged for our gutters to be mended by some very pleasant gentleman who arrived within a couple of hours of me calling him. Bonus - they were roofers and gave me some really helpful advice on our roof for which I was very grateful! Thanks Tony - I?ll be calling about my bathroom leaks shortly!

The only reason the AstroTurf has not been better used in previous years is that it was locked up and made to look like we were trespassing if we used it.

It was closed for 3 hours 3-6 pm for a play out, in conjunction with London Car Free Day. There were posters at both ends of the street explaining this. I assume you came past at the start when we were setting up but for most of it there were in excess of 20 kids and slightly fewer adults, all having a wonderful time playing with their neighbours and enjoying their freedom. It?s a residential street with lots of kids living on it. Sorry if those few hours made your journey a little longer and thank you from my three kids who had a wonderful time with their friends!

There was another lady had her phone stolen from her hand on Grove Vale around 5pm last night. Group of 3 black male teenagers on bicycles. I saw them a couple of minutes earlier when they mounted the pavement whilst I was waiting to cross the road and we?re really close to me, think I was a target but luckily didn?t have my phone out.

The question was whether they wanted a CPZ on their street. There was no question of do you want a CPZ in another street. So 67 or 68% of people did not object to a CPZ in the area depicted on the poster.

and speaking as someone who used to live in the Brixton CPZ, it was great. With one of the only tube stations in South London being there it would have been hideous without the CPZ. It is a shame to get a ticket for filling in the permit in pencil, this is to stop them being reused and would not now happen with electronic permits. The person referred to in the previous post would likely not have got a fine without the CPZ being in place, but this is because s/he would have been unlikely to be able to find a parking place on the street!
