What?s the point? By extending will we only be delaying the inevitable?

The forecasts look entirely deluded to me. The economy hasn't been hit much yet because the government is paying 9.5,m people to do nothing. Ending the scheme suddenly will not end well. Need to get these people working though somehow. Gov should employ them to do something productive and end the scheme once we have a solution.

Key is how we deal with sars cov 2, there doesn't seem to be any endgame in sight. Could go on for years.

I wouldn't be surprised if the UK and global economy general are smaller in 5 years than they were in January

Everybody being made redundant at the same time (October) could cause unrest and riots.

I'd sort of space it out a bit if I was the Chancellor.

BoE looks at money not political/social things.

Chancellor has already tried to address this with bonus for companies keeping staff on until Xmas - but ?1000 is not going to change the mind of bosses.
