Mine feed reader stopped processing EDF again on 20th October. Did something change?

Here are the issues I can see:

1 - EDF is not responding to requests from certain IP addresses (validator.w3.org and probably feed readers) - *I suspect this is the issue with my RSS reader*

2 - validator.w3.org reports validation fails on these (they might cause an issue for some RSS parsers):

Using the element under RSS2.0 requires a valid email address (EDF RSS uses the EDF username)

3 - validator.w3.org suggests "In addition, interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations."

Remove &raquo (html '>>') from the forum descriptions. The front page shows 5 occurances of &raquo (html '>>') ie " Discuss life in London's East Dulwich. Talk about local restaurants, pubs, shops, services, transport, planning, it's up to you » "

Do you know the IPs of your RSS feeder?

We have blocked various countries from having access to the forum because of the amount of spam we get from them. I suspect that your validators/readers come from those countries. If you look at the link https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/rss.php you can see it works.

    • Great finish to today, true Test cricket. India had the chance to kill it off a couple of times, but Carse and Tongue looked far better than I was expecting in a Test situation over the last few days. Still hoping for Jofra and Woody to be back for a couple games each.  PGC, do you reckon this 'Anderson -Tendulkar' series could make Tests a bit more interesting to the wider word? There's still Birmingham, north London, Manchester and south London to go. It's never going to to be 'The Ashes', but as a five game series, I genuinely think this might get people a bit more involved.
    • LOL.   Lazy ass people who choose to litter!!!!   Really greenery does not cause anti social behaviour.   But I gotta say thanks for the giggle.
    • That's a gross exaggeration. All of it. But maybe you just intended to provoke that response?
    • A problem with weeds being left to grow on pavements is that a lot of local residents appear to think it gives them permission to litter which then accumulates around these tufts of urine-soaked weeds. Saying that, the principal litter louts are the recycling workers that do the blue bins. I followed them down one of the roads and at every single stop they dropped between 5 and 11 separate pieces of rubbish. There were hundreds of pieces dropped on Underhill Road alone.
