Did anyone get one of these cardboard headsets through the post? Dubai in collaboration with google?

It had no official logo or link to website on and then a few hours later I had a Google security breach..

Cant find any trace of the campaign online so wondering if it?s a scam?!

Don't give it to a courier who turns up apparently knowing all about it.

if your bank account is linked to your google account, check it and remove the details from google.

do you know anyone who would really, really have wanted one but possibly couldn't afford it themselves?

I don't pretend to understand this but is it this scam

"The scam is known as "brushing." An online seller ? usually overseas ? purchases their own products through fake buyer accounts they've created. The products are shipped to a real address. Then, the seller writes a positive review of their items from the fake buyer account".

Hm, there does seem to have been an official VR campaign by Visit Dubai a couple of years ago, which seems to have been legit. However, that does not explain why these headsets seem to be appearing in the area now?

Here is the Oculus page with details of the campaign a few case studies down: https://www.oculus.com/blog/new-webvr-experiences-entertain-educate-and-let-you-explore/?locale=en_GB

    • Initially, when all the discussion took place at Bradbury some of existing building was to be demolished which meant that 3 flats would go but these residents would have to wait until new building erected to be housed. No indication has been given as to where people would be placed during building. I am glad that the tree is to remain - Bradbury residents contacted various environmental groups to lobby for tree to remain. I gather that there is likely to be a question of restricted views to be made by Wood Vale residents as 5 stories is significantly higher than current building.
