Catford Bridge Tavern - plans to turn it into a Tesco metro or similar

Recommended Posts

If anyone is a fan of this pub (huge improvement on the dive it was before), you may wish to know that the landlord is trying to sell it to a retail company and has applied for planning permission to turn the top into flats.

The planning application is here: http://acolnet.lewisham.gov.uk/LEWIS-XSLPagesDC/acolnetcgi.exe?ACTION=UNWRAP&RIPNAME=Root.PgeResultDetail&TheSystemkey=67504

A group of supporters are planning on raising the issue at the open forum at a council meeting today, meet at the Catford Bridge Tavern for 10:30am this morning if you'd like to go along, council meeting is at 11am. The pub is planning on keeping people informed about what they can do via Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/catfordbridgetavern and twitter

I'm not connected to the pub but have spent some fabulous evenings there with my Catford mates and would hate to see it close.

Thanks.

    • The residents & families of the estate are getting parking fines,  out of the blue , the residents parking system waa changed from Southern to Sippi with cameras put up in the car park and people issued with fines entering the estate for more then 10 minutes , families can no longer pick up or drop off family due to a new 10 minute wait fine. Residents are appealing with Sippi and Southern as there was no letters to consult of a parking change,  new waiting times or fines, delivery drivers are getting fines everyday,  if you get a fine,  appeal it, there is no signage up to say about parking fines or waiting time
    • Threads that devolve like this should be moved to the Lounge, so the 'comedy' can continue in an appropriate vacuum.
    • How very dare you. Rest assured, if it were intended to be comedy, it would have been funny.
    • I hadn't looked at the actual posts on Instagram. That's sad, then. The shop opening hours are still shown at the top of the page. I  guess changing them wasn't uppermost in her mind under the circumstances.
