iPhone upgrade (Vodafone) - switchover time from old to new phone ?

Recommended Posts

technology has moved on quite considerably where the down time for a fone switch over thingamy should only b a couple of hours altho they do still say it could take up to 24hrs. i have noticed it does also depend where you are when u call them up to do the switch... where the masts r (no doubt there r some thatll disagree to this but its my own experience).

u shouldnt b down for too long

OK cheers KK, I have got the new phone all set-up from iTunes, just need a darned signal now that the previous phone has been disabled by Vodafone - they didn't say that there would be any downtime (or I was too naive to realise) and it's come at an awkward time.

One thing worth pointing out with the 'Five' is that when making calls you cannot hear the person you're talking to, it's really REALLY quiet and tinny, like someone calling from Mars via a tin can and string type of set-up.

However I found a solution all by myself.

If you peel-off the protective sheet of plastic from the front of the phone, amazingly you can hear just as good as on any other mobile phone !

    • Well I don’t approve for a shop doing the same food to open so near - just wrong in my opinion. Why not go to the village, Peckham - foot fall would be great in Peckham and certainly more multi  cultural than ED. Village has money but doubt foot fall would be as good as ED.  At least they could have gone to the stretch leading up to Peckham Rye or why not bottom of Barry Road?? Or even North Cross Road I for one, on principal won’t be going in.
    • Heh yeah haven't even bothered to remove the emdash. The OP is AI slop as well.
    • The street directory is on Ancestry and you'll need a subscription to access.  It's reasonably easy to navigate though you have to find the page you're looking for by a combination of trial and error/guesswork.  https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageviewer/collections/61265/images/47056_263021009499_1592-00159?usePUB=true&_phsrc=Soz1793 There is though also a general search page for London directories where the street name can be entered in the keyword field and results will take you to the specific pages. https://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/collections/61265/
