Nanny Pay Package

Evening all,

I am trying to help out my brother who is thinking of hiring a Nanny from September. Can anyone advise on payroll process, in terms of pension, NI if paid on behalf of the nanny and so forth. I have little knowledge around this and companies that can assist with payroll seem pretty expensive. Any advise would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance

Nannypaye is a really helpful organisation to investigate all this.

Typically, the nanny?s rate is net and then you pay all the tax on top so it?s important to be clear about the arrangements.

If you go to the Nannypaye website, there is a helpful calculator to help you work it all out. They also do a booklet you can order that explains it all, plus holiday, sick pay and Nanny share arrangements.

We used Nannytax. They?re not particularly expensive and make sure everything is legal. Doing it yourself seems like a lot of hard work for a limited saving and potentially big risks. Nannytax also provided employers liability insurance for about ?70 a year.
