There are some great recipes for (vinegar) pulled pork in North Carolina - there seems to be a 'war' between East and West of the State over who makes the best. One side does vinegar-based, the other side does something different, I can't remember which does which, but all tasted good to me ! You may wanna try WWW.

I have tried loads of recipes with varying (not always good) results. Then I chucked a bunch of mixed asian ingredients (soy, mirin or a bit of brown sugar, fish sauce, chilli, garlic, star anise, sesame oil, spring onions) and it turned out amazingly well.

Bit afraid to just chuck stuff in at the moment. What you did sounds like a chinese barbeque version! Am a bit addicted to vinegary things at the moment. Am cooking cabbage, leeks and onions (sometimes with bacon if I have it) and adding apple cider vinegar to it. Really nice. Can add caraway seeds.

    • I give away a lot of cuttings but always short of the above, any ideas please?
    • Ash tree branch. Before speculating as to cause and whether it was deliberate or not, it’s worth remembering that there is ash dieback around. Also tree branches fall off without warning, especially if there’s internal rot or disease which is not outwardly apparent. And yes, there are regular checks done on the health of the trees in the Wood.
    • Dulwich folk well particularly ED folk have more money than certainly me - £4.00 for bread and butter? That is outrageous and I certainly would not pay £30 for an organic chicken - weird one is pate and runner beans combo. Don’t think butcher on Lordship Lane charges that but each to their own - live in Devon now and no way is an organic chicken that price!!
    • I was sitting on the park bench yesterday opposite north Dulwich station and found an Apple Watch hanging off the corner. I have brought it home and charged it hoping that someone might use ‘find my’ to locate it. Equally happy to be contacted this way to return it to the rightful lender / they just need to say what colour/kind of strap it has. If you can think of a better way to return it / find its owner then please advise. And/or feel free to share on other local fora.
