We are going to see family overseas and will be away for a month.

We have a good travel cot, which our 11 month old sleeps in very well when we have been away before, but no more than 2 weeks.

Should we look into getting a proper cot and proper supportive mattress considering we are away for a month, and the weather will be quite warm? Or would a travel cot be ok for a month? Baby sleeps on her tummy too...

Advice on what people have done before!

I would say that if she sleeps well for 2 weeks, she will be fine for a month. however if you did want to make it a little more comfortable you could get her a padded travel mattress (we got one from mothercare), which would be easier to put in your case than a proper mattress. Also don't forget you can often hire a cot and mattress from your destination, which is what we have done when going away for a month (along with a highchair). If you do this you may want to take a mattress cover anyway, to put over the hire mattress.

    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
