I think they advise leaving crawl spaces under fences for hedgies, who can't climb over fences in the way that foxes can.

I also hear that hedgehogs cover vast areas every evening when they hunt for food, so the chopping up of land into gardens and the building of roads is not helpful for them - a bit like how the Enclosure Act did for the British peasant, I suppose

Deffo time to curl up for winter for me too :))

Seriously, if you're having a bonfire, eg for 5 November, please make sure there are no hibernating hedgehogs (or any other creatures) in there before you light it :(

No such sights like this down in ED. nor the owls, woodpeckers, jays and peacock.

My OH saw a jay whilst waiting at ED Station earlier this year :)

And I once saw a greater spotted woodpecker in the land between Dulwich Hospital and the railway line :)

    • I checked - the Hanway Street place was Mandeer - it moved to New Oxford Street and was replaced by Hakkasan - very different prices.
    • Suppose it depends on how many Christmas cards from family and friends you’re waiting to receive. It’s been the Christmas period so surely give the post delivery service some leeway. Like Sue I’ve not posted off so many this year but some I still write letters to  e.g my late mum’s cousins and other family  but hey ho that’s something I do and enjoy.  I used to hand deliver Christmas cards to a lot of neighbours on my street but gave up this year as realised that most of them I don’t see or speak to and can only count on a few to call a true friend or neighbour.
