Birthday presents for boys

I need some inspiration for my little boy's birthday. He is (soon to be) 2 years old. Very much into cars, trains, dinosaurs, lego etc.

Likes Raa Raa, Peppa pig, Abney and Teal - not into Thomas etc. yet. Loves books but have plenty of those.

I am completely ignorant when it comes to boy toys - is there anything particularly popular for a two year old? I think for my daughter's second birthday we had tons of presents but now am struggling with just the one.

Would like to get him one good big present and maybe one or two smaller ones

Has he got a scooter yet? That was our sons main bday present at 2

He does not have a scooter but my daughter's micro is available (she has just about outgrown it). It is pink but so far that does not seem to bother him. He has not tried it yet but maybe we can let him have a go. Am a bit terrified he is going to just kill himself on it. Cannot remember what age my daughter started on it.

ooooo i know, Grandpa gave him a lovely wooden garage from i think GLTC and some cars. He's now 5 and he still plays with it

A is on a micro scooter now. We got the one with the attachment with ride on seat, which is meant to go up to 3. She's had that since Xmas though so now we've taken the seat off and she's on the 'o bar' which is shorter than the main 't bar' and easier to grip. She loves whizzing round the park on it.

I think you can buy the smaller attachments separately - and also new 'decks' so he could have a boys colour one (and the decks themselves sell on ebay second hand so the pink needn't go to waste).

The Octonauts toys are great also, ready sturdy, can go in water and good for imaginative play. We have definately had our use out of ours and they are still in great condition!
