That sounds like a good idea RD. Anyway I was going to have a sneaky glass or two of wine Friday night just to ease myself in. I don't want to get tipsy too early Saturday and miss Frankel !

Anyway - not drinking for a while is a very interesting experience. If you are a regular drinker normally, then you can get into a habit and its good to conscioulsy break that habit from time to time. The first week you feel inclined to have a drink in the evening because its what you normally do, but after a week it feels normal not to. You feel like a better citizen / father / employee / golfer......

Does this mean the No-drink-vember that my liver had been promised a repeat of has been and gone already? Is this something to do with those bastards at the Julian calendar again?

*Sips a nicely chilled, Ch?teau de Durette, C?te de Brouilly 2009 and ponders the imminent turning back of the clocks.

Presumably that will be a 20 day November as well?

I live just around the corner & walk past every day, & I'm still not entirely sure what it's meant to be. For that reason, I'm not surprised if it often gets overlooked by passersby. Prior to all of this, it was Oriental Star - a wonderful Chinese takeout run by lovely people, & we were genuinely sad to see it go. It took a long time to find anything in this area that came close, & honestly, I still don't think we quite have.
