Silvabell
Hello,I was wondering if anyone has tried the Waterbabies swimming lessons at Lewisham Hospital? I've heard good things about Waterbabies, but curious what the Therapy Pool is like at the hospital. Has anyone tried it? Is it nice? Clean etc.? They seem to have lots of classes there but my other half isn't keen on using the hospital pool. Thanks! Jessie
I would think a hospital pool would be super safe and hygienic Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26272-swimming-at-lewisham-hospital/#findComment-586137 Share on other sites
Clare11
Hello, We've been going to waterbabies at Lewisham for almost a year now. It's always been very clean and hygienic, never had any complaints from our visits. If someone does have an 'accident' in the pool, they always let us know and cancel the class straight away. A make up class is usually offered later on. My son loves his classes and is really a confident boy in the water at only 16months, I think taking him along from about early on, and the approach the teachers have there has really been great. Can't recommend them enough. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26272-swimming-at-lewisham-hospital/#findComment-586149 Share on other sites
Clare11
Forgot to say that in the time we've been going, there's only been two accidents on our day and both times the class was cancelled because the pool had to be properly cleaned. So I think they are really stringent with hygiene. Saffron
Little Saff and I loved Water Babies at Lewisham hospital therapy pool. The pool is lovely and warm all year long. It's a therapy pool, so it has to be warm. The pool was always super clean as well. The only drawback is that there isn't a lot of changing space. To save time, I wore my swim suit under my clothes to the pool. Getting dry and changed afterwards can be a bit tricky. A spare sarong is handy.Happy swimming :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26272-swimming-at-lewisham-hospital/#findComment-586166 Share on other sites
Jo'sEnglish
Just to echo the general feeling, we do Aquatots which is also at Lewisham Hospital. Perfectly clean and lovely and warm, although I agree it can get a little cramped. We've known it to be closed once when there was an 'accident', but that was another swim school and nothing to do with the hospital using it. It was also closed for a couple of weeks when the boiler was broken but other than that has been great. My mum was also a bit funny about it being a hospital pool but actually I think they would need to make sure it is hygenic because of that and probably gets checked more thoroughly than other pools (I like to think anyway!)
