We got our son and daughter micro scooters for their 2nd birthdays - if memory serves, the boy picked it up quickly, and the girl at two and a half is only just getting the hang of it. I kind of regret never having got either of them a pedal trike, so maybe get a cheap one for the birthday and a micro scooter for Christmas?

My daughter had both for her 2nd birthday (not both from us !) . The trike was never a real goer except in the back garden whereas she is still whizzing around on her scooter 2 years later. I have seen plenty of 2 year olds using them, slowly at first of course!! She got the hang of it pretty quickly and is not exactly a coordinated child. But no doubt your daughter will love whatever you choose!

I have twins who turned 2 in august, one is brilliant on the scooter and can keep up with her 4.5 year old brother.... the other is fairly rubbish at it if I'm honest but she's enjoying it! We never got a lot of use out of our trike with our eldest but the scooters are brilliant. Not all kids can manage it at 2 though, I think my eldest was nearly 3 before he 'got it'.
I'd go for the scooter, or a balance bike rather than a trike. Most kids find riding a pedal bike easy if they've had a balance bike first. Both my kids got on reasonably well with a micro scooter from about 2, so that would be my pick. Be prepared to chase after her!

    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
