TV Aerial Install For Freeview- Recommendations?

I need advice on connecting my TV to Freeview, which I believe needs to be via a TV aerial.

Previous TV aerial seems to have been removed, so will probably have to be re-installed, if one is definitely required.

Looking for recommendations for an honest, reliable, reasonably priced person/company who could advise/help.

Thank you!

If there was an external aerial there will presumably be an indoor socket somewhere, looking like https://www.screwfix.com/p/lap-coaxial-tv-socket-white-with-black-inserts/25407, that would lead to where the aerial is or was. It would need a fly lead like one of these https://www.screwfix.com/c/electrical-lighting/fly-leads/cat4740088 to connect to the TV. They can sometimes be found in pound shops.

We're so close to Crystal Palace that I've been able to get by with an indoor 'set-top' aerial for years. It can be distanced from the TV using a fly lead. My desktop TV, on the CP side of the building, is running happily using the aerial smaller than a teaspoon that came with a computer freeview card. I've even been able to get good signals with a fly lead alone.

I don't have any boxes with High Definition tuners, so can't say whether anything better is needed for those few channels.

If it helps, I was quoted around ?120 to ?150 to reattach an existing standard TV aerial, that you will need for Freeview.

So you'd need to add in the cost of the aerial. Not sure how much they are but maybe ?50?

Can't recommend either of the outfits I got quotes from as I have yet to do this work. Not many companies do this work now. I was surprised at the cost, it's basically a ten minute job drilling a few holes on a roof. I paid ?70 for the aerial, bracket and full install a decade ago...

If you're still interested then PM me and I can try and find their details.

They are some of the best looking foxes around so clearly being well-fed - glorious coats and bushy tails but interested in humans and keen to engage/be fed rather than being scared.
