Dear all,

If you are looking for a 2013 reception place, nursery place, unhappy with your child's current school or simply curious as to what the fuss is all about, come along to a tour of the school on Tuesday 6th November shortly after 9am.

There is no need to book, just turn up at the gates on Tintagel Crescent where you will be met by a member of the senior leadership staff and shown the whole school from nursery to Y6, the art and music rooms, new kitchen and refurbished playground where hopefully our new apple trees have arrived!

You are of course welcome to bring children with you but be warned, it is a beautiful listed Victorian building with lots of stairs so not buggy friendly.

There will be parents of current pupils on hand after the tour to answer your questions and share their experiences over a cup of tea and a biscuit.

For those 50 odd parents who came to the last tour please accept our apologies that the usual PTA presence wasn't available. A combination of new PTA Chairs and new term meant that we just hadn't got into the swing of things but are back on form now.

Please feel free to PM if you have any questions and we will do our best to answer them.

Kind Regards

I'll be there as well (son in year 3) to chat over tea/coffee and if any prospective parents are interested, I'm happy to show people our wildlife garden area which I'm very proud of.

A new addition to the environmental education at the school is the partnership with the London Orchard Project (http://thelondonorchardproject.org/what-we-do) - next Friday they & our school gardener will facilitating the children to plant 12 apple/plum trees in huge planters on either side of the front entrance to the school. One of the trees that will be planted will be one of the new varietity for London that the Orchard Project have developed. The Orchard Project are looking for suggestions for a name for this new variety so if you have a great name, tweet it to us at @ggprimaryschool and we will pass it on to them!

Fantastic to see so very many people on today's tour, we do hope that you enjoyed seeing our school. Most of you were able to stay for the coffee and chat with parents afterwards but there were so many of you that we are sorry that we didn't get a chance to speak to everyone.

If you have any questions or general feedback to pass on then do send a private message and we'll do what we can to address your questions or comments.

Good luck with the application process!

Dear all,

Thank you for your feedback, delighted to hear that so many of you liked our school.

One piece of feedback was that because it was so busy it was rather hectic.

I fed this back to the Headteacher this morning who had already had a meeting about that and it has been decided that future tours will not be limited in total numbers but split into groups of 10 they will start at 9.15 and latecomers will be disappointed!

Next tour 11/12/12

    • Anyone can deliver for Evri - my daughter having just passed her driving test tried Evri to make some money - they basically give you a route and as many parcels as they think you can cope with - you make money for each one you deliver, so you can imagine - speed is the priority. Why would they wait for you to answer the door when they can just throw it and take a photo? If you have a choice, choose a different courier service or shop elsewhere where they do.
    • Boil - it’s the customer’s fault, not the delivery person’s.
    • A bit of a long shot but I'm on the lookout for a portable pop-up counter or podium.   The kind you often see on a high street, used by charities or utility companies to advertise their wares.   I've included a photo to give you the idea. I'm a peckham-based artist and am looking for one for a free (and non-profit) community art project.  It can be in any workable condition and can already have signage on it as we will remove and redecorate ourselves.    Thanks in advance, Linzie
    • No I absolutely did not - that much is clear. Have you read the latest stories about Unite, Len and the hotel in Birmingham? The UK electorate were smart enough to reject a far-left party in 2019, let's hope they are smart enough to reject a far-right party at the next election too. If not we are all doomed.
