Deleting emails query

Hi all

Not being v IT-literate, can someone advise me about deleting emails.

Like many of us I have several email portals: iphone, Mac and (now dead) PC laptop.

I have emails duplicated across these three and I want to know if I delete the almost 1000 unread ones from my Mac, will that affect the others in any way? Or will there still be a record of them at Orange and gmail? I know this might sound a bit dim but I don't really understand the hierarchy of the emails.

Your iphone and mac are both connected to the same gmail account, right?

Why not delete one, log onto gmail through a browser, and check whether it's still there?

er.... I receve both orange and gmail in my desktop. On my phone I delete them as I go but don't use the desktop too often, hence the unread monster.

So... I will try that. I think.
