Sol
Hi,We are having problems with the underfloor heating in one of the floors, it was installed last year and it has been used just one winter. When it is on it makes a funny noise and does not heat up, the other floor is working fine. Does anybody know what could be the problem or who can we contact to check it out/fix it? We didn't install it ourseles but the person who sold us the house. Any advice will be greatly appreciate it.Thank you Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26632-underfloor-heating-advice/ Share on other sites
Salsaboy
Is it electric or water? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26632-underfloor-heating-advice/#findComment-590796 Share on other sites
Sol
It is water Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26632-underfloor-heating-advice/#findComment-590820 Share on other sites
mynamehere
We have Jupiter underfloor water and it took a few years (!) to settle... have you checked your control box? Are all the water bubbles in the middle? If I remember there are little control valves... but just get the people back asap. When it does start to work without problems it is blissful: warm floors nothing on the walls Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26632-underfloor-heating-advice/#findComment-590830 Share on other sites
red devil
Why don't you ask the person who sold you the property for the name of the installer (if you have no forwarding address, contact their solicitor/conveyancer), and get them to look at the problem... Sol
Haven't had much luck with the guy who sold the property, so trying to get someone else to have at look at it. We will probably contact the conveyancer, but wanted to check if it was something simple first that can be solved quickly. red devil
Where is the 'funny noise' coming from, the underfloor pipes or the above floor manifold? Are you able to identify the manufacturer of the system, e.g. name tag on the manifold?.. Sol
It is coming from the above floor manifold. We did call the manufacturer and they say we should contact the installer, so trying to find out who the installer was. red devil
If it was only installed last year it still might be under guarantee, therefore if it isn't an emergency it's best to try and get the original installer to check it out at their cost. If you have no joy finding them, a local heating engineer (e.g. Peter Bennison, John Powers) should be able to solve the problem...
