I had a sports massage from Mariana last night and I can't recommend her enough.

I've been suffering from tight hamstrings for a while now which has stopped me from running - just what I don't need in the run up to mince pie season. She was very thorough and spent a long time evaluating stuff like posture before making a start. The massage itself was a little torturous as you would expect, but she took time to explain what she was doing and what she was targeting - and I could feel the benefits pretty quickly. She's given me a bunch of stretches to do and I should be back out running soon.

It's worth noting that she hauled all of her equipment round to my house which was a bonus - but she mentioned she's going to be doing sessions at the hamlets health club which might suit some people better.

All in all, great value and highly recommended!

Another recommendation to add to the above.

I did my back in on a trampoline a decade ago, and despite occasional flare-ups I never thought to get it sorted. Recently the pain has been much worse, and so I sought Mariana's help.

She made me feel completely comfortable, asking questions and making assessments before the massage. During and after the massage she explained what the likely cause of the pain was, and what I could do to help lessen it.

I left feeling lovely and loose and light, which was a nice change from the sexy stiff-walk, yelp of pain routine I had going on previously. Being somewhat of a wally, I proceeded to fall down a flight of stairs a week later and promptly undid all Mariana's good work. But hey, at least I know where I can go to get it sorted!

Thanks Mariana, A+ service.

    • It is most likely gas, with what looks like a stop cock, and although the pipe may well have been isolated later from the supply you should get in a gas safe engineer to remove it. At worst it might need to be capped off beneath the floor boards. Don't interfere with it yourself.
    • Sorry, I know this isn't strictly an East Dulwich topic but as there are so many late-Victorian properties in the area I wondered if anyone has seen anything similar in their house and can advise. We have what looks like an old gas outlet on the back wall of our daughter's bedroom which we'd like to remove, but we weren't sure whether it's safe to do so. Do I just call a registered gas engineer to check it out? And is it definitely a gas outlet or might it be something else? It's at floor level so maybe electricity but it doesn't look like any electricity outlet I've ever seen! Has anyone had any experience of dealing with something similar?
