Not very Halloweeny I'm afraid - three easy-paced Healthy Rides. All start at 10am. Two are regular routes while one is a new route.

All must be booked on Eventbrite using the links below. If you get booked, but then find you cannot make it, please cancel so that someone else can take the place. Even at the last minute it is worth cancelling.

When booking read carefully the information about Covid precautions.

Ride 1. Tower Bridge to Dulwich. 10am to 12 noon. Start/finish on Potters Field Park, on the waterside, next to Tower Bridge. Scot leading. Route mostly quiet streets with some paths in parks. Probable route starts across Potters Field, through to Bermondsey St and on to CW1 briefly. Turn off CW1 on to Dunton Rd then Marcia Rd and Surrey Square to Burgess Park. Ride across the park and join CW17 route. Follow CW17 up the hill via Camberwell Grove to Champion Hill. Then the lovely downhill of the Green Way to Dulwich Village and the park. Return via Court Lane Gate and Peckham Square (one of our regular meeting places), then Canal Path and Glengall Rd through to CW1, again just for a short way. Finish via Bermondsey Spa Gardens to Jamaica Rd and Shad Thames to Potters Field Park/Tower Bridge. This route ridden 1 June 2019 starting from Dulwich, see report http://healthyrider.weebly.com/healthy-ride-reports-june-july-2019.html. Likely route at https://goo.gl/Kz7wjr.

Ride 2. Burgess Park to Chelsea Loop. 10am to 12.30pm. Start/finish Park Life Cafe, Burgess Park, Chumleigh Gardens, SE5 0RJ. Jane leading. New route: Burgess Park to Hyde Park/South Ken/Chelsea/ Battersea Park and back. 10h00 - 12h30. No coffee break but can stop briefly in one of the parks if required. 13.6 miles, a mix of segregated cycle paths and less busy roads. Interesting streets in Chelsea, lots of Blue Plaques including P.L.Travers (Mary Poppins author) & Oscar Wilde. Return journey will pass a new bike repair shop, Cycle Works, in Bolton Crescent near Kennington Park. Route at https://gb.mapometer.com/cycling/route_5164939.html

Ride 3. Canada Water to St James Park. 10am to 12 noon. Canada Water start/finish, Deal Porter Squ, opposite CW Station, SE16 7AR. Easy-paced 2 hour ride. Simon leading. Repeat of an easy, enjoyable, ride, variations of which we have done several times recently. Route may change a bit but you get a good idea from this Google map, https://bit.ly/3naaJrl. The circuit of St James Park takes you past Buckingham Palace, so be on your best behaviour. Will ride out over London Bridge and back over Westminster Bridge.

Almost all places already gone for Saturday. Fortunately we have a 4th ride - Philippa will repeat her London Eye ride from Canada Water. So anyone who would like to ride this excellent route, sign up at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/canada-water-to-london-eye-tickets-127036267897.

Remember if you do get booked but then cannot make it, please cancel on Eventbrite.

Note also if you are not sure if you have registered (e.g. no confirmation), you can check by logging on to Eventbrite and seeing if you have a "ticket".

Ride details:

10am to 12 noon. Start/finish in Deal Porter Square, opposite Canada Water Station. Outward follows National Route 4, the Thames Path, passing Tower Bridge and Tate Modern. Return through Waterloo station, down the Cut, into Union Street then down to Great Suffolk Street. Pick up CW1 and follow until peeling off onto LCN 22 to Southwark Park and back to Canada Water. Philippa leading.

    • Hi SpringTime, I completely understand the concern for protecting birds, but using bells on cats is a bit more complicated. While they may reduce hunting success, they're not always effective & can cause stress for some cats, who are highly sensitive to sound. A better solution is to ensure cats are kept indoors during peak bird activity & providing plenty of enrichment at home to satisfy their hunting instincts. There's a terrible misconception that cats do not require as much mental & physical enrichment as dogs do. But they do, if not more so.
    • But we can train them to kill the foreign invaders, green sqwaky things, and the rats with feathers
    • Hi Nigello, Many spayed/neutered & microchipped cats actually don't wear collars, as they often go missing & can pose risks.  Microchipping is far more reliable for reuniting lost cats with their guardians. Some of our clients even keep sacks of collars on standby because their cats frequently return without them - a comical but telling example of how impractical collars can be. A major contributor to unspayed/unneutered cats & kittens is purchasing from breeders, where these measures are often overlooked. Adopting from shelters, on the other hand, ensures all precautionary steps - like spaying/neutering, microchipping, as well as vaccinations - are already in place.
    • Hi message me if you have any bits whatever they may be thanks
