Using the Bus pre 09:00 Freedom Pass Holder

Hi folks..

I have a Hospital appointment at 09:30 on 23rd November. At St Thomas' Hospital

I have a Freedom Pass but cannot use before 09:00 so cannot meet this appointment.

Is there any way I can use the Bus ? Mobile Phone.. ??

I think I may be able to pay with contactless card.

TFL Website says I have to (Tap In) and (Tap Out) for every journey ??

Perhaps speak to TFL and ask if you show your appointment letter together with proof of who you are to the driver you would be allowed to travel earlier.

Unfortunately common sense is missing in cases like yours and others.

There is only one bus fare so you just tap in on buses.

Hi

Just tap in your contactless card when you get on the bus. You only need to tap in and out if you travel on the Tube or National Rail. The fare will show on your account at the end of the day.

No you don't. If an inspector gets on, they can check your card on their machine.

If an Inspector gets on .. they are not going to look at my Bank Account ..

We keep a couple of oyster cards to use with visiting family or odd times when we cannot use our Freedom Pass.

Around ?370 , which if you say it fast seems ok. But it can also monitor your heart, and lots of other super super features.

Buy one, then one day when you can fly somewhere you can keep all your boarding passes on it, which feels great going through the airport. Just remember to charge it up though ☝️😃
