Nikkikf
I have a dress for my little girl to wear at my sisters wedding but it needs to be blue :)I am seriously unable to do things like this - any tailors or dressmakers locally who would dye it for a reasonable price?Otherwise tips very welcome! Thanks. Renata Hamvas
Hi Nikkikf,it all depends on the fabric/finish how well it will take to dye (whether you do it or someone else). Cotton and other natural materials take dye much better than satin etc. I've dyed stuff using washing machine dye with salt, it's very simple, just follow amounts on packet and put salt plus dye directly into drum and wash cycle (check temp you can wash fabric at). With satin fabric, expect the shade achieved to be much paler than on the packet. Good luck!Renata Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26889-help-needed-to-dye-daughters-dress/#findComment-594231 Share on other sites
