They got in through the back gardens on Silvester road, then simply punched out the air vent and opened the window. They then kicked out a panel window on the locked kitchen door and they were in. Hindsights a great thing. Window locks may have helped but I guess if they were determined they would have got in one way or another. Police didn't dust as they were wearing gloves. After a ten minute talk on security we were advised to 'have a look' down peckham rye for our stuff......

Saw one patrolling Barry Rd on Fri night around 10pm.

I was at home last week during the day and the bell went - I opened the door and the chap there looked a bit surprised and asked me if he could wash my car. I said no and he moved on. Did not go to my neighbours - I wondred whether he was sussing the joint. Youngish (20s) olive skinned fellow in jogging pants looked either Eastern Euopean or light skinned asian

Are there actually any flats/houses on Barry Road left that haven't been burgled? We were burgled in September, and they gained access via the front door. Since then, all of the flats in our building have been burgled. I'm really struggling to feel safe here knowing that this is happening to so many people along this street.

Sorry, not really helping with the conversation I know, just feeling a little frustrated/upset by all this.

Yeah, that sounds definitely dodgy... Wash your car...

We must report this things to police straight away. Spread the word everyone please.

    • A new roadmap (surely railmap?!) for rail accessibility has been published: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/accessible-railways-roadmap It says "approximately 56% of stations and around 66% of the 1.3 billion journeys that take place on the network have step-free access to platforms...  "£373 million has been committed over the next 5 years to deliver Access for All projects, providing step-free access from station entrances to and between platforms, alongside other essential accessibility upgrades. These works, together, will increase the number of step-free stations across Great Britain from 56% to 58%. "This improvement will make travel easier with step-free access available at stations covering an increased share of total rail journeys – from 66% up to 71%" Don't know what that means for us here: upgrading Peckham Rye would cover a lot of rail journeys but the cost has no doubt increased from the £40m figure previously quoted. So that would eat into a lot of the funding.
