Hi - I volunteer in Kings and was with a patient today who is very sick and has lost her sight. I wondered if anyone has a small radio or talking book ??? I don't know how they work so I'm open to suggestions. The patient is quite religous so she could listen to a religous radio station. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks

Hi Topbanana

Thank you so much for your kindness, I think the most useful thing would be a personal radio, it would have to have simple controls as the patient is not used to blindness, I would also be happy to put money towards something, I've organised a speaking clock - hopefully that will also be useful.

Have a read of this about the Stream BookSense and let me know your thoughts. It has a speaking clock built in already.

I am in that part of town on Friday so can get one if the RNIB have one in stock. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Top Banana by name, Top Banana by nature. Lovely act of kindness. Top stuff TB. And you Hilili. Seems to be some good things going on at the moment via the EDF.

I'll do my bit for the local economy in the Xmas build up and purchase most of my Guiness and associated beverages on Lordship Lane.

Barry!

    • Hello All, I'm after sun hats for adults some with physical and learning disabilities who enjoy outdoor activities with an organisation I volunteer with. If you have any caps, bucket hats, or aussie type sun hats that you no longer use or would like to pass on., any condition...I know some very appreciative peeps who would be very grateful. If you need info then please DM me. Thanks for reading.

    • The link below has further information suggesting that the shop demolition and square redevelopment is funded separately from the station upgrades, so will go ahead:   https://www.ianvisits.co.uk/articles/peckham-rye-stations-step-free-upgrade-has-been-put-on-hold-82360/
