John did an excellent job after a water leak from the bathroom upstairs. We had to cut through our ceiling to investigate the leak. Once the leak was found the large area had to be plastered. This is where John cam and did a great job.

He is professional and a great guy. Would highly recommend John for any plastering work.

We've had John here this week to do some plastering for us. it was a full room (lots of angles and corners) plus a couple of patching up jobs and he has done an excellent job as well as leaving the place clean and tidy. This is no surprise as he did about 6 rooms in this house when we first moved in 4 years ago and did a great job on those too :)

John is a really nice guy and I can deffo recommend him for anyone needing plastering done - 07905 044912

Another recommendation for John - I removed a built-in cupboard from the living room of our Victorian flat which exposed some crumbling and uneven wall that needed professional attention. I got the recommendation for John from here and wasn’t disappointed at all. Extremely experienced, efficient, tidy and friendly and left the walls with an amazingly even and professional finish.

And same positive review from us. John did a couple of small pacthes where plaster had fallen away from render. Dropped by evening and on time, arranged return couple days later, arrived to do job on time, was extremely pleasant, tidy in going about jobs and no fuss. Highly recommend.

We've had John doing a ceiling for us today. This is the third time we've had him in to do stuff and we're always pleased with the results. He is also a really nice guy. In fact I hope he'll be back for a 4th time in the next few weeks to plaster the only room in the house he hasn't yet done!

Just wanted to add another recommendation for John McCann. We had him back to do some more work on our house, again he was quick to respond and open and honet about his pricing. All work done neatly, quickly and to an excellent standard - will be using his services again for any future work. Number - 07905044912

Belatedly adding feedback for John. We renovated a large bedroom last November. The walls were water damaged from a previous leak and it needed wallpaper removal too , so not a small job.
Can honestly say John did a great job . He was punctual , professional and tidy . He arrived with his colleague Aaron (also on the forum with great reviews) and they both did a great job. The professional painter who came in afterwards remarked that he thought it was one of the best plastering jobs he had ever seen.

We’re now six months on and the room still looks great .

A bonus is John is a very nice person - you can trust him .

Would highly recommend!

We've now used John on two separate occasions. One was a full room re-plaster, the other a more bitty job. Both jobs took exactly as long as he said they would. Plastering is excellent and he's always on time, tidy and a joy to be around. Would highly recommend.

I would highly recommend John for anyone needing plastering work. He carried out some plastering work in kitchen and hallway this August. He was polite, trustworthy and produced work to an excellent standard.
I would recommend him to anyone looking for a good plasterer.

We had a small job for John to do which was to skim a bedroom wall, and he did it perfectly. He was an excellent communicator and responded quickly to my request, despite it being over the Christmas period. I would highly recommend him.

I had John McCann come to my home 2 weeks ago to replaster a wall that had been damaged by a water leak from the roof. He has done an amazing job. Never seen a wall so smooth. The painter/decorator I’m booking is also impressed by his work. He worked quickly.  He was very responsive after contacting him through this website and communication was great. His quote was very fair. Top job!

As posted elsewhere Jojm is a superb plasterer, highly experienced and very good. And will either just get on with the job or, if you wish, have a good chat with you - he's a Dubliner so very friendly!

I have either used him directly (once, for a biggish job, a couple of rooms, insulated plaster boards and finishing) and twice for neighbouring landlord where I arranged and saw his work completed expertly and efficiently. Recommended. He loves dogs too. If relevant...

John has done a fantastic job plastering our bedroom. He boarded the ceiling & window bay then plastered both and the two remaining walls.  He always turns up on time and gets straight down to work, and leaves the room clean & tidy after. I thoroughly recommend John for any plastering work.

We needed a bedroom ceiling to be replastered, complicated by the layer of Artex applied by the previous owners.  We applied a primer (Blue Grit) and arranged for John to do the rest. There was a minor problem with the ceiling in one area, which John handled with his usual skill. Great results as always.  John's a great character, and a superb plasterer - experienced, knowledgeable and conscientious. Highly recommended.

Used John to plaster the hallway ceiling in my house, he arrived on time and did the job to a very high standard. He tidied up after himself (my wife was super impressed) . The price was as agreed and I could not recommend John enough. I would 100% use his skills again.

John recently skimmed the walls IMG_6738.thumb.jpeg.6d27fa715e36e071f69a6dbea48b0764.jpegin our front room lounge, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the result. From start to finish, he was professional, punctual, and easy to work with.

He arrived on time each day and kept me updated on progress, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. The quality of his plastering is smooth, even, and ready to paint with minimal prep. He takes real pride in his work.

John was also very tidy, laying down protective sheets and cleaning up thoroughly after the job was done. It’s clear he respects his clients’ homes, which I really appreciated.

On top of that, he’s friendly, approachable, and trustworthy someone you feel comfortable having in your home. His pricing was fair and transparent, with no unexpected costs.

Highly recommended if you're looking for a skilled and reliable plasterer. I’ll definitely be using him again for any future work.

    • The solicitor is also the Executor. Big mistake, but my Aunt was very old, and this was the Covid years and shortly after so impossible to intervene and get a couple of close relatives to do this.  She had no children so this is the nephews and nieces. He is a single practitioner, and most at his age would have long since retired - there is a question over his competence Two letters have already gone essentially complaining - batted off and 'amusingly' one put the blame on us. There are five on our side, all speaking to each other, and ideally would work as a single point of contact.  But he has said that this is not allowed - we've all given approval to act on each others behalf. There are five on her late husband's side, who have not engaged with us despite the suggestion to work as a team, There is one other, who get's the lion's share, the typicical 'friend', but we are long since challenging the will. I would like to put another complaint together that he has not used modern collective communication (I expect that he is incapable) which had seriously delayed the execution of the will.   I know many in their 80s very adept with smart phones so that is not an ageist comment. The house has deteriorated very badly, with cold, damp and a serious leak.  PM me if you want to see the dreadful condition that it is now in. I would also question why if the five of us are happy to work together why all of us need to confirm in writing.
    • Isn’t a five yearly electricity safety certificate one of the things the landlord must give for a legal tenancy?
    • Very sorry to hear this, but surely the landlord is responsible for fixing the electrics?  Surely they must be insured for things like this? I hope you get it all sorted out quickly.
