Nigello
Hello, My boiler (around five years old, Vaillant) has nothing on the LCD screen and won't work. It was ok this morning before I switched it off when it got too warm. I went to switch it on (it is never on a timer) and nada. Any tips? Also, any reliable fixers-of-boilers who are, well, cheap and good?! Thanks much Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/271549-boiler-help/ Share on other sites

sniggum
We had a problem with our four year old Vaillant boiler recently. I rang up Vaillant and was surprised to find it was still under warranty(five years). It would be worth giving them a call Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/271549-boiler-help/#findComment-1472907 Share on other sites
Jules-and-Boo
Check the fuse in the plug Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/271549-boiler-help/#findComment-1472949 Share on other sites
Sue
A couple of times when my boiler has gone dead it was because I had accidentally switched off the switch on the wall which is for the ignition (I think. Something electrical to do with the boiler, anyway).I moved my bread bin and hadn't noticed it had knocked off the switch.May be worth checking? peckman
Likely it's the fuse. It may well be under warranty . Ours was ..but we forgot to register it at the beginning . Luckily managed to persuade them to come. Be aware though they will ask if it's been serviced regularly .. ours wasn't serviced annually. The plumber turned up and said they would normally need to see the service history in the log book but did us a favour and said if we couldn't 'find' the logbook he would do it anyway Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/271549-boiler-help/#findComment-1473004 Share on other sites

Jellybeanz
I would recommend getting boiler insurance (usually can find cover that includes home emergencies: plumbing, electrics and boiler), especially worthwhile over colder months and includes a boiler service for around ?15 p/m Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/271549-boiler-help/#findComment-1473104 Share on other sites
