We had our daughter's birthday swimming party at Dulwich Leisure Centre on Saturday 8th December. Unfortunately 5 locked lockers in the family and men's changing room were forced open and money + iphones + camera were taken which belongs to my husband and 4 guests. The incident clearly marred the party we were having for my daughter.

What made me angry was that the attitude of the staff + security of this place where the barrier (to go in the changing room + pool area) opens automatically to anybody. When we reported of the theft, none of the staff seemed cared to go to the changing room to see what had happened. It was until much later and a lot of noise made by the guests that one staff went to the changing room to check it out.

This was the first time we had our party there, the last 2 parties were at Peckham Leisure Centre where the security is better and stringent.

it was clearly a letdown.

Anybody had similar experience at Dulwich Leisure Centre?

Sorry to hear about what happened, on what should have been a happy occasion. Have to admit that I never take anything with me of any value to the baths. Don't they have CCTV in the reception areas that might show who went through? What did the police have to say?

The reception made a police report however the police didnt turn up.

It was our first time at this leisure centre and using the swimming pool, therefore we have no idea that the locker room is not a safe place. i guessed we learnt the hard way.

i dont think we will be using the facilities there anymore.

what a shame as its our local.

thanks for the comments.

we will be following this up with the leisure centre.

just wish us luck.

We called the leisure centre yesterday and spoke to the Manager. He is aware of the incident but did not have a clue of any update on this matter. The police came eventually according to him. My husband asked whether the police was given access to the CCTV, he said he does not know. It is very frustrating.

It wasn't the cheapest option to have a swimming party there for our daughter. The service is a real let down.

Yes, only the locked ones were forced open.

    • Another recommendation for Electrical Initiative. Leon is professional friendly efficient and an extremely reliable electrician. He sorted out my garden outside light last year and I didn't hesitate to use him to replace my noisy bathroom extractor fan which kept the bathroom cold in the winter. Leon recommended a lovely new fan which has shutters and is silent. My bathroom is warmer and I am very happy with my new extractor fan.

It simply means that wherever that TSG van was when they got a call to somewhere else, that road was the most efficient and quickest way to get from where they were to where they needed to be. Said as someone who drives frequently on blue lights in this area and has had absolutely no issues caused by any changes in road layouts. I have elsewhere, but not in this patch.
