How many times have we heard people say

"It doesn't matter who You vote for. They are all the same "

Well. To some extent that was very true.

Why ???

Because we were not in Control. Brussels was in Control.

Now it Will matter who we vote for.

Why ???

Because We will be in Control.

And if who we vote or get it wrong. Then we vote them out.

We have our country back. It's up to us.

Unbelievably worried by Brexit and the impact on the uk. Loss of jobs and opportunities generally - esp for all our youngsters. I desperately hope that we can pull thru but just looking at the facts of what we are left with do not bode well. Just a flipping holiday is going to be more bureaucratic and expensive. The loss of the Erasmus scheme despite being promised it would be unaffected. The massive swathe of lies told by the proponents of Brexit generally - that?s why I?m worried

@BB. It may help your credibility if you resisted such dismissive and insulting responses to DF's post. Such a response is obviously designed to deter formites from making inputs that conflict with your views.

DFs post is exactly what Boris used to post to the Telegraph when he worked in Brussels - Most of it was proved to have been made up in the pub when he'd had 5 or 6 pints. True Story :)

Edit: The bit with Boris and the Telegraph and the beer is true. The posts in the telegraph were much worse than anything DF posts.

Is this thread really nessesary??? Natty if you want an answer to your questions, there's circa 40pages of edf worries about brexit on the EU trade talks thread. There was was also another brexit thread with more pages that went on for 3 odd years before that.

This has been done to death on this forum. No one is going to say anything new at thi stage, they're just going to wind themselves up into a lather....

Come on, they?re just calling a spade a spade !

You reckon people shouldn?t call out BS for what it is ?!

No nasty words were used.

I can go into great detail as to why DF's post was nonsense, but felt it was blatantly obvious and needed no further explanation. The question around sovereignty has been done to death and the leavers have never won that argument sadly.

I'm NOT worried about Brexit. I have no problems with Travel To or Through Europe.

I have not Travelled to Europe since 1992 and have no reason / need to do so.

If I have any desire to Travel in the future for Holiday purposes I will pay any Visa costs.

Hardly a Problem.

I have concerns that Remainers will do their best to Sabotage future events to return

this country to a self-governing democracy managing its own affairs.

They will NOT succeed.

It has been a very long, very costly 47 years.

Just wish I was younger to enjoy a very prosperous future.

DulwichFox.

?- long very costly 47 years?

One would think someone as old as you would remember how sick the U.K. was back then. Tried to stay out. But had to join anyway because it needed to financially. In those 47 years it was the 5th largest economy in the world

The U.K. did plenty wel out of those 47 years

Funny world. DF gives a counter-view and most don't take offence. Cat put's his twopenny worth in, and provides an alternative argument, whether we agree or not there are valid points. But I take my hat off to you Trinny, just stirring things up for no apparent reason. I've been posting on forums since the mid 00s and when I first heard the term troll wondered if I was one. But Trinny you set a gold standard, not a cheap insult but a fact.

Right back to the thread. Worried that we have screwed it up for the next generation. They were already the first ones that would have a lower standard of living than their parents. Now they have Covid and the end to freedom of movement. Let's see how much of a prophet of doom I am. Resigned to things, but still very sad.

Brexit is about emotion, not any rational or objective thought process. For most people life will go on pretty much as it was before, with slightly more bureaucracy when they go on their summer holidays. Meanwhile, as we realise that we?ve cut ourselves off from the world more than is good for us, we?ll drift closer back towards Europe. We?re European, they?re our closest neighbours - this is just the beginning of the next chapter and nowhere near the end of the story.

OK, if you can go into detail to refute Foxy's view then please do so.

But why use your default judgemental tactic of dismissive put-downs?

Are you aspiring to be the lead member of a self-appointed forum mafia intent on suppressing views that don't align with yours?

Whatever anyone thinks about My views, it doesn't matter.

It's done and dusted. At 23.00 Uk time we left the EU.

The majority of UK Citizens got what we voted for back in 2016.

The Minority Remainers will have to deal with it or move to some European country

and recind their UK citizenship.

Happy New Year to all. In or Out.

Let us hope 2021 will be a better and safer year for everyone.

And DF sums it up - he?s not bothered because he doesn?t want to go anywhere. Most of us do and all our youngsters have been stuffed by that attitude- I suspect he doesn?t know what opportunities have been stifled for them and how utterly bewildered my kids are by the whole process. As am I.. well actually I totally understand that the mail et al were lying whole heartedly to the nation as it made a good story but the whole thing got out of hand and look where we are..

    • Where did I say he did a good job? Yup and Corbyn was very close to Len McCluskey and funded by Unite wasn't he...they're all as bad as each other... Labour have to purge their party of the far-left - they're a disaster. Allan Johnson summed it up so well on election night in 2019....
    • Thank you for the detailed advise @trinidad It is definitely damage we are concerned about. I don’t think Evri would agree to pay the bill to fix our gate or letter box if they were to be damaged as a result of their delivery drivers helper. Our doorbell can be heard from outside when rung so we don’t quite believe the aggressive simultaneous door/letter box banging is necessary. It can be quite a shock it is done very aggressively.  I’ll definitely action the steps you’ve kindly provided along with a phone call tomorrow. I do sympathise with the role drivers have and how busy they are, which is why we tried communicating directly with her but sadly we haven’t succeeded
    • What outcome would you like? Disciplinary action? Not to have the driver back? Retraining? I know there is alot of pressure on drivers to deliver within a set day. if he slams the gate, is it evidence he is causing damage, or is the noise a irritant to yourself? You could put a sign up or buy a signing asking to close the gate gentle???? can you hear the door bell from the door? he might be ringing, not hearing and therefore knocking. In trhe notes section of the be livery page, there is a note section, although there is not 100 per cent these notes would be read as these drivers are constantly rushing.  I did a google search for you, i found this and you can try the envri website Contact Us | Evri   To complain to Evri, you can follow these steps: Contact Customer Service: Call Evri's customer service at 0330 808 5456 for assistance with your complaint.    1 Write a Letter: Address your complaint to Capitol House, 1 Capitol Close, Morley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS27 0WH.    1 Use the Official Website: Visit the Evri complaints page on their official website for detailed instructions on how to submit a complaint.    2 Email or Call for Specific Issues: For issues like missing or damaged parcels, you can email or call 0800 988 8888, which is free to call.    1 These methods will help you effectively communicate your concerns to Evri.   My driver is called anthony, he is brilliant to be honest. I cant fault him.
    • When I have more time and energy, I will look up the actual number of votes cast for each party in that election, rather than the number of seats won. I'm interested to see that you apparently  think that  Boris Johnson did a good job of "leading the country through Covid." Is your memory really that short? I won't stoop to calling Johnson and his cronies names in the way that you seem to think is appropriate for left wing politicians. At least the left wing politicians have some semblance of morals and a concern for people who aren't in some over privileged inner circle and/or raking in money for themselves on the back of an epidemic. I'm not going to open a can of worms on here  by commenting on the disgraceful so called "purge".
