Peckham Foodbank are planning a special Christmas Hampers Day this week when they will give their clients all of the necessary ingredients for them and their families to have a typical Christmas dinner, which they might not otherwise be able to afford. They are asking for monetary donations, over and above the wonderful dontations of food that so many of you give at the collection points, to fund this project - http://tinyurl.com/d25r4ks

I haven't seen another thread about this on the forum so just thought it was worth letting you know in case anyone would like to make a donation.

(Admin - sorry if this is in the wrong section, I know it's not strictly East Dulwich, but not far...)

RenF - I am sure they are still accepting usual donations of food too. They are making an exception for these hampers and accepting freshly homebaked goods from the Band of Bakers too, so hopefully each hamper will have a Christmas cake, mince pies or festive biscuits.

    • Went to a fireworks display maybe 20 years ago at the Crystal Palace, it wasn't bonfire night, can't remember why it was being held, Capital Radio were there. There were people hanging from a crane, classical music, and quiet fireworks,  It was lovely, still dramatic with the colours but no loud bangs. Not sure why this hasn't become the norm.
    • Hi  After a surprising split I find myself trying to furnish a home. If you gave anything that you don't want that may help I'd be so so so grateful if you could let me know please.  Thank you so much
