Marmora Man
Is it possible to download You Tube videos permanently? There are a few old BBC records available on You Tube that, for various reasons, I'd like to retain as a permanent record fro family history.Any advice will be received most gratefully.ThanksMM Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/27433-downloading-you-tube/ Share on other sites

DulwichFox
It was only this morning that I was thinking the same thing. I have created lots of links to C++ Tutorials and would like to have them on disk. Just Google 'Save Youtube' and there are lots of Youtube vids telling you how. BEWARE:- You may put your Computer at risk using Third Party Software. Fox. DJKillaQueen
If you use Mozilla Firefox as a browser you can add a download plugin (all free) to the browser. It shows as a little blue arrow. Whilst an mpeg video is playing on any site, you can click that arrow to download the video. DulwichFox
I have just downloaded Video Download Helper. An add on for Firefox.. Here is a link about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfkFO9_SwIo It is an old video and suggests you need to download a player. When I first tried it asked if I wanted to Convert to a dif. Format. Then it got a little complicated. I tried again without the conversion and it saved vid. as .MP4 which plays ok.. Fox.
