IMO

If the childminder is open for business and you choose not to send your child you pay

If the childminder is closed for business and you cannot send your child you don't pay

They are self employed and offering a service that you pay for.

As a childminder, it is usual to be paid bank holidays and so many weeks paid annual holiday (usually 4 weeks) throughout the year. The only time you won't pay is during anytime the childminder is sick.

Yes we are self employed but all holidays should be discussed during the contract signing period
