A big thank you to the guys from the council out there now gritting the pavements and making them safe.

Clap emoji I saw some pavements well gritted this morning. Are we "allowed" to use the grit ourselves?

The road that links Underhill and Wood Vale, cemetery side. The graveyard itself could have done with some also but IDNK whether the staff there are on shift.

I saw them gritting one side of Underhill between Melford & the South Circular. Not sure if they gritted both pavements or not.

Outside Tessa Jowelll centre,

Lordship lane Goose Green end

But, earlier both sides of Langton Rise road and pavement still snowy.

Any way, I think Southwark are doing a good job in relation to this.

I think the old fashioned idea of chucking salt down in and around one's property is valid, or is this now deemed legally and physically (as in physics) wrong?

Haven't seen any grit from Southwark round ours so far. Maybe we need a 2 in our postcode and not a 5.

Had a shot at the pavement and road outside anyway - council not prepared to help but still costs much less than a casualty.

The road crossing the railway bridge between Grove Park SE5 and Chadwick Road is as it always does turning into a skating ring. As its on a hill press the brake and off you go onto other cars.

The road passes over a railway bridge which acts like a deep freezer producing sheet ice which you have no idea is there until you are on it.

Pavements are the same.

Much of Dunstan's (Dawson's Hill side and a bit near the school) is gritted, as is Mt Adon park and some of LL near that road, as well as part of Gallery Road. It's spotty, so are people helping themselves or are the gritters doing it? Are we permitted to use the grit that is there in the boxes? I suppose we are because the roads are gritted by vehicles. Any answers?
