  1. I have been trying to find the answer to this question without success. When you drove from Chadwick Road to Peckham Road passing Warwick Gardens you never incurred a Ulez Charge. When I received my monthly charge this month it would appear that you now do. You always received a charge passing Warwick Gardens into the the one way system towards Chadwick Road so it now appears that around the one way system there are cameras facing both ways. Can anyone one confirm this is now the case. Any answer would be appreciated. Thanks
  2. There There is a post just up on the forum re Bellenden Road and surrounding area possibly losing its only laudromat.
  3. From my own perspective many affordable and useful shops in "Bellenden Village" were lost a long while ago. What there is now represents want the new residents want and willing to pay for goods. This is true of many ordinary local areas Sad if true the laundromat might be going.
  4. Abellio London strikes: A strike is taking place on Wednesday 1, Thursday 2 and Friday 3 February. A good service will be running by the early hours of Saturday 4 February. These routes will be affected: D Does this mean there are no P13 buses or like past strikes a few might run? No thought for those who have trouble with mobility. Three days of unable to get the shops is wrong. Any news would be appreciated.
  5. A while back there was problem when logging into the Dulwich Forum where you tried to log in, on Google, it brought up a facebook titles. Has this problem come back? I used to be able to just press Dulwich Forum and the page came up , now it does not and I have to search out the login page to sign in everytime. It may just be me would like to know if others are having the same problem. Thanks
  6. Has the problem that arose a while back reared its head again. When ever I use google now to open the above it brings up facebook pages and I have to find the option to login , this has never happened before to log in. I used to just use DF and it opened. Would appreciate hearing from you. Regards
  7. I don't think that's true - he developed adult-onset asthma in 2014 (two years before becoming Mayor) - that's why he's made it a key battle. It's personal. Imagine what might have been achieved if he had been stabbed or mugged.
  8. Perhaps he needs money for new clothes to attend all of his celebrity freebies.
  9. Perhaps this might explain the thought re shareholders. Perhaps water will be charged on use during the day. Posted by jazzer Today, 03:07PM I have one such "smart meter" which was fitted 18 months ago and my charges have been based solely on the amount of water used, so far there has been no indication that the costs are being determined by peak or off peak timings. I guess this is a possibility bearing in mind the recent press reports of how some energy companies (OK, three so far) are intending to alter the costs throughout the day. I suspect Thames Water are using this is one way of reducing the "costs" of a man coming twice a year to read the water meter in the pavement, very similar to the way energy meter readers of gas and electricity are being slowly phased out. How often do you see one and if you do, they are not from your energy company, but have been sub contracted out to a third party who "specialise" in meter reading. Arghhhhhhhhhhh. So yes, water meters are being made "smart" And avoid a smart energy meter unless you want a bill that may charge you a different rate up to 48 times a day. In last Thursday's Daily Telegraph (no, it's not my daily paper) it was the neighbours after I saw the front banner about how a journalist objected to energy smart meters (well worth a read).
  10. I am quite pleased that I am in my late seventies and can still question and not accept everything that is put up and have to follow it by being led by the nose to the so called promised land. Accept everything that is put up on social media at your peril. Soon you will obey what is put up on the internet without question.
  11. You should contact your company to find out if you might benefit from having a meter. You can also find a water meter calculator on the Consumer Council for Water?s website (www.ccwater.org.uk). Seems this is no longer applicable. You will obey
  12. Where are these meters being enforced in highly populated areas? are the leafy confines of Dulwich etc being told they must have them? I got my letter today how have I had a long time to adapt?

(At least, though, this move is proof it > wants to reduce wastage.) How do you know when you are wasting water? You might but others might not. Seems these days the powers that be seem to know how people live or what they really need. It does seem these days people are being rounded up and pushed into things they have not been consulted on or want. Still shareholders are the people that have to be kept happy and repairs to fix wastage is not high on the agenda if if requires monies to be paid out.
  14. How about all residents in Southwark voting to get this money grabbing mob out? Council needs to have a clean out.
  15. How can the road be safer if there is a dedicated > cycle path to take cyclists from the Bellenden > Road turn up Chadwick road and round the corner? > Have to admit I do not know why the road is safer when there is a dedicated cycle lane. From your list cycle lanes should never be opened. Perhaps Southwark should clean more. Chadwick Road has been dug up and resurfaced more times than I can remember. Just been done again. Still no doubt someone else will turn up and dig it all up again.

I quite agree with your thoughts on the cycle Lane down Lyndhurst. It was ill thought out and was only put in to please the planners. Has anyone watched the traffic jam when the refuse lorry comes. Was this thought of? You can stop at the bottom of the cycle lane and look at traffic coming down before turning into Holly Grove. However people just pull out without looking.
  17. Redpost wrote: "That's a difficult turn for cyclists with cars whizzing by, it is perfectly acceptable to not use a cycle lane if the road is safer or quicker (which gets them out of danger more quickly)." How can the road be safer if there is a dedicated cycle path to take cyclists from the Bellenden Road turn up Chadwick road and round the corner? There was never such a thing in all the years that I have lived in "Bellenden Village". Never any problems or accidents. Still these days we cannot have todays people taking responsibility for their own actions or safety.
  18. I rang this morning and was 19 in the queue. Rang this afternoon and got through after a few minutes. Was offered a phone appointment for 9.30 Tuesday but I will be at the hospital for an eye procedure. Asked can you switch the last appointment or another late afternoon one with me at 9.30. Answer Cannot do that you will have to ring on Wednesday to see if any appointments available. Do not understand why. How many other appoints are like this this.
  19. You could always ask Mr Khan to pick you up in his armoured Range Rover with outriders to make sure it is not stolen.
  20. Just had a royal Mail delivery arrive when he asked my wife do you have a BT delivery expected she said let me ask my husband. His retort, "Do you want it or not" No parcel in his hand but knew what were were expecting. When she returned to say yes he was getting into his van and just drove off. Seems the whole system is broken. Impossible to speak to anybody.

The last bit is on the bike..... Is this where this traffic jam occurs? Or is it in the north of the borough only. Confused
  22. In the north of the borough I've noticed a complete sea change in the last 2/3 years of people's transport choices - there are huge numbers of cyclists on the road, and I've actually been caught up in a traffic jam of parents taking their kids to nursery/ school by push bike. That never happened before. Where did this happen?

I do not understand why there is a shortage of doctors. The government pays surgeries for the number of people they have on their books to provide salaries for doctors. If they could see and talk to people before the pandemic why are they so short staffed now if they were able to operate with no problem before. Is it a case of letting staff go and keeping the money? Surely the number of doctors should be the same if they are being paid by the government to be there. DMC always seem to be taking on more and more patient with less and less staff. Could someone explain
  24. If it makes you feel better, today I was supposed to have fibre broadband put in between 8am and 1 pm. My work space overlooks the house front staircase. Apparently the engineers came and no one was in. I had been at my station since 8am waiting for them to arrive.I can see and hear whoever comes. Speaking to 2 separate BT workers each gave a differently story, after waiting since Sept for this installation it is now not possible until the middle of december because I was not in. Although the house was fully occupied and the internal door bells would wake the dead. The last person I spoke to at BT said I cannot see anything that confirms how they could not gain entry.that now one was not in when he heard the bells. I cannot believe anything BT say.
