  1. For those that live or pass through "Bellenden Village" be advised that Lyndhurst Way has now/being narrowed to 1 lane entry from Chadwick Road. A large permanent concrete construction has allocated yet another cycle lane into the mix. Others boroughs are taking out temporary barriers Southwark build expensive permanent lanes to make passage for the car more difficult. The one way system was put into place into 1989 and has worked without any problems even when Camberwell Grove was shut down on the bridge. Why the change now? How many people knew about this and have been informed or is this yet another lets slip in into place under Covid. Just how much has this cost?
  2. Or as this has been rejected 4 times lets sneak another application in undercover of the pandemic. Chances are Southwark will just nod these through as not many people know this about to happen and cannot comment. I asked the local Cllr about why no information has been put out in the neighbourhood and have not even received an acknowledgement.
  3. There is always widespread support for things like this but what has happened to the Coal line and Peckham lido? Again a wonderful idea amongst the what a super idea crowd. Anyone know what has happened?
  4. Again this only happens at weekends. Why not just apply parking over the weekend period? Would solve many complaints., but hi ho we are talking about Southwark Council.
  5. They have been rearranging and putting non required pavement alterations on Chadwick and Bellenden Road. They have now finished and the pavement is exactly as it was before after a weeks worth of work
  6. As most people would use the park during the hours you mentioned they would still end up paying, unless of course you arrived very early and left before 8 and arrived after 6 pm. It is a park that is paid for out of Council tax for all to use. Southwark wants to close off streets for the benefit of Dulwich residents now it appears they want to price out non dulwich residents from using the park. As someone mentioned on another thread if they can piss up the wall ?254,000.00 on the brown bin fiasco they can make parks free. Perhaps all Cllrs should start to worry as people look more deeply into how they perform.
  7. Today I came pass Lidl at Surrey Quays and the queues have started again with a large line in place. Please lets hope that panic buying is not going to take hold at Sainsbury's again. Would it be possible to up date if this is starting again. Many thanks.
  8. If someone is in charge of a monopoly and still manages to lose a fortune you have to wonder if he is capable. Please dont say its the government fault. I've always wondered how a human rights solicitor would have the experience and knowledge to run what is in essence a very very large company without any hands on business experience. This could also be applied to MP's in my opinion. I know employ friends who tell you how great you are. I certainly would not vote for him but people are free to vote for whoever they want.

God help us.

  11. So if you are in a traffic jam, the bus lane and cycle lane is completely empty and unused and traffic is heading towards you you have to sit and stop all movement and hope they do not hit you. Do you need a degree to make these rules?
  12. The Lane Ward used to be a separate ward but with boundary changes it was included with Rye Lane.
  13. Thanks for reply. So if they did not put down they own a car/cars no one would know? Not sure what oysters cards etc have to do with owning a car, could just be parked up until it is used and use public transport in during day. So the census would be meaningless and who owns what would never be be apparent. Plenty of room for adjustments to fit the requirement.
  14. How does Southwark get these numbers. Direct from DVLA registration or off an from official must complete survey in the borough census. Have to admit when I have been through the so called poor areas there are many many expensive cars being driven by young people and parked up. Makes you wonder if these surveys are worth the effort and are the truth.

How long will that take? The ULZ according to Khan the Magnificent will have the potential to take 2.7million off the road in 2021. Many of these cars may not be replaced as the people who have and rely on their cars will not have the money to replace them.
  16. This is what they said about Champion Hill. Feel you have lost all credibility like Khan the Magnificent.
  17. How long is a piece of string. These closures are in for good better get used to it. As someone pointed out re CHampion HIll we require more time to evaluate so another 18 months. Can you see Southwark saying we got this wrong?
  18. Once the morning rush hour is over most of the roads are quieter and fresher. As its Sunday would you not expect it to be less busy this morning.
  19. Are my thoughts on the above correct. With Townley closed at the times stated does that mean with Elsie, melbourne Grove etc all traffic will have to go via Lordship Lane/ EDG to get to the village and points west or drive all the way up to the south circular by the old grove tavern and come back past the picture gallery. After drop off where do the coaches go? Has any common sense been applied to this
  20. That is probably not to difficult as most ordinary people going about their normal lives to survive have no idea that these consultations ever take place. So rallying the zealots and getting them to vote no matter how few impresses the powers that be to pass whatever if it coincides with their plans as what people want. This is plain if you ever go to a local community meeting.
  21. "I dont get why i should not be able to do what i please in my own property, bought at great expense which wiped out almost all of my inheritance. Im planning a big one for this forthcoming bank holiday Sunday, but on the advice i have seen here i might just start it at midnight so there is no noise team for my pesky neighbours to call." Out of interest how old are you?
  22. There are no people working at the Council thay are all working from home.
  23. How about those that do not meet the Council road test that they qualify for the badge. Many elderly people, like my wife, can just about walk with great problems but Southwark say they can walk, cycle or sit at home and as they can walk 10 yards there is not a problem. After making trips without using the car she is usually in great pain for many days. You may not beware but Southwark is finding any excuse to cancel blue badges as reported many times in the Southwark Times.

Hopeless. If all these employees/local authority /civil servants are working from home will they be losing their London Waiting top up to help the cause. Surely that would help the TFL deficit
  25. How have the figures from 5 to 50 been obtained?
