Quick heads up that the next council ?south area? meeting will be on Tuesday 23 Feb.

Here are the details I was sent:

?This is to let you know that the next South area multi ward meeting will take place online (zoom) on Tuesday 23 February 2021 at 7pm.

It will start with decisions on which groups/projects will receive funding for Cleaner Greener Safer 2021/22, Devolved Highways 2021/22 and Neighbourhoods Fund 2021/22.

The meeting then continues with a presentation from NHS Southwark CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) touching on the current pandemic, including information on the vaccine roll out, plus Southwark Council?s response to the pandemic.

Pre-registration is required to attend this meeting. Simply visit: https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJYscOGgrzgvG9dXy1wm1qgsnP9GexaxUv2s and enter your name and email address. You will then receive a confirmation email with the meeting link and passcode.?

As a reminder these meetings are quite formal / not really a forum for public questions and debate (that?s what ward meetings are for) - the multi ward fora have quite limited terms of reference. http://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/documents/s92505/3H%20Multi-Ward%20Forums.pdf

    • If I was on a table of two accused of eating thirty poppadoms (with pickles and chutneys) on top of curries and sides, I think I'd be inclined to say 'Yep, that was us' and ask the waiter to write off the entire bill. That is a truly heroic feat and should be recognised as such, even if you didn't actually do it.

    • Just avoided being overcharged in Superdrug, Peckham. Half price price on the shelves, but not half price at the till. If I'd been buying loads of things I might not have noticed
    • I would question ‘affordable’. Fit For is £115 per month for the standard (cheapest) membership.    for comparison, the leisure centre on CPRoad is £44 per month (£37 for concessions) and JAGs sports club is £60 per month, they also have various concession or family membership offers
