Goodness me - I wonder if his memoirs will be entitled: My own stupidity and it's part in my downfall.

What a prize idiot.

At a time when many are questioning the council's fairness, balance and attitude towards constituents this is not a good look at all - the lengths he went to to undermine a local resident group is shocking.

I know, I wonder if there?s any accounts on here that are like this, like having another identity

Steve Taylor/ Trolley Snatch has gone, but there must be others?!

Maybe we could just classify posters into tribes, D&D alignment style, rather than try and find potential duplicate accounts?

There is a bigger issue here about local democracy and the relationship between councillors and constituents, the role of political parties in local government, the amount of whipping that goes on, whether councillors' loyalty / focus is with their ward constituents, their LA political party organisation or their national party organisation. Voters expect them to represent constituency interests, and with the way the system works this is perhaps naive?

Is there a "councillor culture" that doesn't sit well with the formal rules, that happens because every other councillor is acting in a similar manner, so it all seems OK?

I know of at least one current poster who has two forum names and has sometimes used both of them on the same thread.

Not a troll though.

Seriously - if you're clever about it or use parody it seems to be allowed.

If you just blatantly try to pretend you are not who you are you're banned from twitter. I'm sure if he ran an obvious parody account it would be allowed even if it had a political persuasion (like Larry does).

Twitter recently has started marking accounts with "This is a UK Government Account" etc.

But it's suspected that the government runs a "boiler room" Social Media operation which is really a large group of fake/bot accounts (a former chairman admitted that this was going live in 2018).

I can only find reference to it here

I can understand someone having separate accounts for say 'business' and 'pleasure' with that well known adage in mind, whereas having multiple 'pleasure' accounts, even if they don't troll, looks sketchy...

Specially posting on their own threads in each ?alter ego?. That?s just odd, tho I suppose there?s a ?Oooo..I?m getting away with this? about it, but it?s still fekn sketchy.

Red Devil, but you already knew that.

Not sure what point you're trying to make, most people who've been on the forum long enough (like yourself) know that's my old account. I stopped using it when I hit 10,000 posts (a 'clique' injoke) and took a break, which was over 3 years ago.

When I returned and set up this account about 6 months later, I deliberately chose DR so people would know it was RD, if I did it again the next time I'd probably choose a Spanish or Italian translation.

I never operated both accounts simultaneously, and even if I had, it would've been fairly obvious to some it was the same person, unlike those posters who have multiple accounts and post under different names, and sometimes in the same thread, which I'm sure you'll agree is a strange thing to do...

I agree, it's a very strange thing to do.

I think originally one of the names may have been intended for "business", very loosely defined, but that isn't the case any longer.

    • A new roadmap (surely railmap?!) for rail accessibility has been published: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/accessible-railways-roadmap It says "approximately 56% of stations and around 66% of the 1.3 billion journeys that take place on the network have step-free access to platforms...  "£373 million has been committed over the next 5 years to deliver Access for All projects, providing step-free access from station entrances to and between platforms, alongside other essential accessibility upgrades. These works, together, will increase the number of step-free stations across Great Britain from 56% to 58%. "This improvement will make travel easier with step-free access available at stations covering an increased share of total rail journeys – from 66% up to 71%" Don't know what that means for us here: upgrading Peckham Rye would cover a lot of rail journeys but the cost has no doubt increased from the £40m figure previously quoted. So that would eat into a lot of the funding.
