Delainie
A friend of mine witnessed on Goodrich Road a few days ago a dog walker, female, in a white van, looking as though she was dropping dog back home, when a dog from van got out and ran, she chased with the other dog, which was on a lead, luckily she got the dog back. The most concerning thing was she left keys in engine and engine running with dogs in van and a dog sitting in the front. It wasn't that long ago a couple vans got nicked with dogs in, because a dog walker left engine running whilst dropping of a dog. Stealing dogs is rife now and I know people put their trust in these dog walkers and pay money for a trustworthy service. The part of Goodrich Road is between crystal palace and the road new school is on at the bottom. So if anyone uses a dog walker with white van in that part of Goodrich, perhaps you could find out.keep in mind, people are being robbed of their dogs when walking them so just please keep your dogs safe and question your dog walker. KidKruger
Sounds like it was an unexpected accident and in the instant the natural reaction was to chase the errant dog to secure catching it as soon as possible.Doesn?t sound like an issue with care, diligence, or professionalism. Delainie
Well I always turn my engine of and take keys out before getting my dog out of the car, keeping in mind, keys left in engine running, going to back to get dog out. Sorry but no excuse as far as I'm concerned. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/277546-concerns-re-dog-walkers/#findComment-1491311 Share on other sites

DuncanW
Certainly sounds like a natural reaction to recover the runaway dog, no problem with that. But drivers should be switching their engines off when parked anyway, why would you not? Earl Aelfheah
Can't imagine dog walkers are getting much business with lockdown. Having a reason to leave the house seems to be one of the most attractive things about owning a dog right now. Ronnijade
Literally just a natural, panicked reaction I suppose? What a snarky post... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/277546-concerns-re-dog-walkers/#findComment-1491736 Share on other sites
