I thought I'd give this a try, I know it's rather unorthodox, but the network of friendly people on this forum just might be able to help me find a counselling placement in Dulwich and the surrounding areas, or maybe further afar.

I'm in my final year of qualifying to be a counsellor/psychotherapist, so far I have been studying for four years as a career change, and it's been going well.

One of my strengths this year has been my client work, but unfortunately my current agency are having difficulties with gaining clients for counselling as this service is relatively new for them. This has left me with no clients, which has lead me to fall behind in my diploma.

I work integratively, which means I use various approaches of pyschotherapy, depending on the clients needs, agenda and goals.

I'm reaching out to the local community in the hope you might know of any organisation/agency that are looking for a voluntary counsellor, preferably they will need to supply supervision.

To all the good people of our community please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any ideas.

Contact me via private message or text/call on 07909513407

Many thanks for taking the time to read and hear my plea.

Warm Regards

James

have you contacted the CASSEL Centre in Forest Hill - this is a counselling and social work centre and has many years experience with counselling/psychotherapy/social work students. Number is in phone book. Ask to speak to Christine. she is the executive manager.

    • You can get a card at the till, though, to get the discount. You don't have to carry it with you (or load it onto your phone), you can just get a different card each time. Not sure what happens if they notice 🤣
    • Yes..that may be the case but membership STARTING at £115 a month is still unafforable for many. Council gyms also have a large range of equipment and I had a  PT at Dulwich leisure centre when I was in Full Time employment who was incredible and even kept in contact during lockdown giving me a program I could do at home and checking in weekly at no charge or personal gain for herself. I dont doubt that Fit For may be a good gym (Its been in situ long enough so must be doing something right) However the cost of membership means it is affordable for the few not the many. If I could afford that kind of fee I would rather get a train to Canary Wharf and go to Virgin active where theres a pool and incredible classes and facilities
    • This sounds great 👍
    • We found a red TREK bike yesterday that had clearly been stolen and dumped. Would love to reunite it with its owner. Get in touch if you know whose it is.
